I'm just starting out with FSPS, so pls pardon the newbie question(s)
![]() I have several panel popup gauges that are simple XML clickspots with no bitmap. To be able to see what Windows ID they reference, it would be handy to open them with the gauge editor.. but the editor refuses to open an XML gauge without a bitmap.. Do I have to add a blank bitmap to the gauge if I want to be able to look at it in FSPS or is there another way? |

If they are simple gauges you can use the Microsoft CABDIR utility to extract the gauge contents and then edit the xml file with notepad. This would be the simplest way.

Hi Ed,
I'm aware that I can edit the gauges outside of FSPS, but it would be convenient to open up the gauge within FSPS while I'm looking at it's position in the panel. As per the documentation, I'm trying to look into the gauge code to see what popup panel is being called up. I can edit the gauge and put in a dummy blank bitmap if that is required for FSPS to open the gauge.. is it? |

Yes, adding a background bitmap should solve the problem.

That worked, indeed. Small price to pay.. I edited the handful of clickspot gauges that I have and changed
<Size X="20" Y="20"/> to <Image Name="blank.bmp" /> I also included a little blank bitmap, just to make sure. ![]() Now, I can open up these gauges and move them around on the panel... very handy, and much better than before where I would use Notepad and "trial and error" to adjust their position. |
