After downloading Ultimate Terrain USA from Flight1 install agent for install into P3D5.
The download works fine but when I try the UT setup tool I get a message as follows: The local c:\p3d5\flight one software\utusafsx\USA.XML file appears to be corrupt. I reinstalled the product several times but always cannot get further with the setup. I asked flight1 for answers but they referred me back to this forum Can anyone please help me? John

If it says the file is corrupt then it may actually be corrupt. This could have been a download issue with the Flight 1 install agent i.e. have you redownloaded the product installer again or are you just re-running the installer you originally downloaded? If you have redownloaded the product installer, when you run the UTX Install Manager and/or UTX Setup Tool are you doing so by right-clicking on them and selecting "Run as administrator"? Jeff |

re downloaded flight 1 manager and re downloaded as admin but still get the same error message
I am at a loss here Can anyone please shed some light on this?

Can you please detail the exact steps you are going through i.e. - details of where you have P3D5 installed (suspect C:\p3d5) - app(s)/installer(s)/setup tool(s) you are running - whether you start it by right-clicking on it and selecting "Run as administrator" or not - exact options and buttons you press - if you change any of the default locations offered by the installers/setup tools Jeff |

r/c Flight1 agent goto library select Ult.USA v2 for P3d click download d/l UTUSA v23im.exe open UTX USAv2.3 install manager(latest version] d/l to C:\programfiles)x86)\scenerysolutions\UTXusa then choose P3D5 platform install data files to C:\P3D5 Now I get successful install Immediately get the message that the USA.XML appears to be corrupt and you will have to reinstall ----- have done this 5 times now same result. Please help as I have more UTX to install. Thanks Jeff

Based on your reply you did not indicate that you were starting the install manager by right-clicking on it and selecting "Run as administrator". As I cannot see what you are doing it is very important that you describe exactly what you are, and are not doing. If you are not running as adminstrator you could be running into any number of permission and security issues. I also need to check that when you say "install data files to C:\P3D5", is this what the default location the installer is selecting or are you manually editting/changing this? If you are manually editting this entry, you should just take what it indicates (let us know what it does say). Will try and work this out but you need to provide all the steps you are taking so that I can try and work out where the issue is happening. At the moment it looks like a permissions issue. Jeff |

flightsim agent installs automatically to C:\prorgramfile(x86)scenerysolutions
after d/l from install agent there are options to install like FSX,P3d4 and P3d5 then ofcourse I pick P3D5 for the scenery and the install of the data files. after doing this I get the message USA.xml corrupt Thank you Jeff for being so patient with me, but this is driving me nuts

OK, have you tried the following: - Go to the C:\Program Files(x86)\ScenerySolutions folder - Inside you should have a UTXUsaIM folder, go into that - Right-click on UTXInstallManager.exe and select "Run as administrator" - In the Install Manager select the P3D5 option from the "Available Simulator Platforms" list - If offered any more locations, just accept the defaults i.e. do not change or select any different locations - Report if you still get the corrupt USA.xml message Jeff |
