I am trying to launch a ticket, and I am getting a 500 error (internal server error). I have treid different browsers. I cannot post the details as this is about problems with a password.

How do you suggest to proceed?

I am using firefox which has TLS 1.1 thru 1.3 enabled. The IE that I used as a backup has TLS 1.1 and 1.2 enabled.

Generally, a 500 error indicates that the server is having issues. I have no idea what that issue might be but suggest you try again. If it doesn't go well then post again and Jeff Smith will probably respond to you and start to work it out via email if all else fails.
