Sound update for Audio Environment Ultimate Traffic 2 users:
As a result of user feedback, we asked TSS to increase the volume of the AI traffic sounds when heard from inside the cockpit. TSS have gone one step further and also added extra enhancements to the AI traffic sounds making them even better than before. At the moment, this is only completed for Ultimate Traffic 2 users, but we are hoping that TSS will update the other AI packages as well. We cannot promise this as it is a large amount of work involving hundreds of individual sound files, but as they get time, they are working on this free update. http://flight1.100megabyte.com/AE_UT2_SoundUpdate.exe To install, follow the instructions carefully. Audio Environment and the original UT2 sound pack MUST be installed as this update only replaces certain files. The update will not install if you do not have the original Audio Environment UT2 sound pack installed. Before installing the update, run the Audio Environment Configuration Manager (as administrator if using Vista or Win 7) and click the REMOVE SOUNDS button to restore the Ultimate Traffic 2 sound set back to the original. Then run the AE_UT2_SoundUpdate.exe file and make sure that the installer points to the Audio Environment folder. This is set by default to C:\Program Files (x86 if win 7 or Vista)\Flight One Software\Audio Environment. If you didn't install to the default location when you installed Audio Environment, you will need to browse to the correct folder. Once the installer has finished, run the Audio Environment Configuration Manager again and click the Ultimate Traffic 2 INSTALL SOUNDS button to transfer the sounds to FSX. Load an aircraft of your choice and park next to the active runway at a busy airport such as EGLL (London Heathrow) and sit inside the cockpit. Use F12 to get an overhead view and look for the busiest runway. It may take a while for your AI traffic to build up You can then slew in overhead view to park next to the runway takeoff area. I am sure that you will find the update result is nothing short of amazing. If you decide you don't like them, which I think is extremely unlikely, you will need to uninstall the update AND the complete Audio Environment package and re-install from the original. Enjoy. Dave. Edited to change to the official release link. |

Hello Dave, is the "helicopter-bug" also resolved in this update? Thank you! Lars |

No, we are waiting for results of a module being tested.
For now, just uninstall the AEmodule. That only controls the AI traffic startup & shutdown sounds. You don't really notice that missing once a couple of aircraft are moving. From C:\Program Files (x86 if vista & win 7)\Flight One Software\Audio Environment, run the file called "ModuleInstaller.exe" (as administrator if using vista or win 7) and select the right hand button "Uninstall the module from Flight Simulator". When the new module is released, you can install it again. Dave. |

This update sounds great, Dave. Anxiously awaiting the update for My Traffic 5.2b which I have.
