Bear with us as we iron out some late issues. Good things come to those who wait. But I've been where you are and know how hard it is.

"Us" being the developers. I just fly 'em. I don't know what makes 'em tick.LOL

This model comes with an autopilot. But don't be surprised if you leave it off from time to time and just have fun flying by hand. The 162 makes "puddle jumper" a good thing.

Like these cables. The aileron and elevator cables for two of them.

Let me add one more thing. Any lack of detail you don't see that you think you should see, blame it on my end. I have a low end computer that needs upgrading badly.

It's about as much fun as I have had in FSX in a LONG time, I'll say that much.  If you like short, treelined and challenging.... this is it, you won't find many more addons that feel right at home.  It brings back a lot of memories from my SEL training days.

Emphasis on the word "fun". If the real 162 is as much fun to fly as this sim is, I want a real one.

Checking the low tech fuel gauge. There's one on the port wing root and one on the starboard wing root. You gotta love it!

Check out the real big side windows. Perfect for VFR flying:

You want detail. Check out the tread on the tires.

It certainly is. I predict that even the rivet counters will  love it.

I didn't get a chance to get any VC shots tonight. I forgot we had church. I'll try again tomorrow.

The VC is a real gem. Even as low tech as the real life 162 is, the level of detail in the VC is remarkable. I'll see what I can get but it will be tomorrow before I can post any pics. Unless someone beats me to it.

Just realized now would be a good time for my usual bump of this thread. You know, for those of us waiting for release, and to show Jim a few "will be" buyers have interest.

I figure it's been awhile and i can bump up this thread.

Just wondering if any news were worthy to share about the 162?

I got just the perfect spot to park it next to my 182

Well, the market here in southern California is a little different. At my school and most elsewhere in the area, a 172N (1979) goes for $125 or so per hour. A 2008 172SP with G1000 goes for about $160. As far as the C162, it cost the school ~$130,000. A 152 could be had for 25-30K, so I would expect higher prices for a 162, or any newer plane, LSA or otherwise.

Ick $100?

I thought it would be like a 152 - I spose all the glass and the "new factor" adds to the expense though. Here in Duluth you can rent a C172 (it's clearly a rental lol, circa 1970's) for about $80/wet. A 152 for $65/wet and if you go to the FBO at Duluth it's $170/wet for a Cirrus SR20.

Thanks Jeff. First flight (as pilot) is Wednesday. Tongue

Yes, that is blue hair on my CFI. It's now RED. California people...lol  But seriously, an awesome guy and great instructor! And the SkyCatcher rents for $125/hr wet(It was $110 when I started in January). There's another C162 that came to the area and it goes for $100.

Funny this post just got updated recently. I've been away since March and am happy to say I passed my Sport Pilot checkride this week!! Clap  And yes, it was in the SkyCatcher. I have ~32 hours logged and have really enjoyed learning to fly in this plane. Was looking to see what's going on with this model as of course I'll be getting her ASAP. I'll be looking to add my Airspace Endorsement in October or so, and was hoping the C162 would be out by then and I could practice on Vatsim.  Crossing Fingers...

BTW, I got this video last week from inside the cockpit from my CFI if you want to take a look.
