Hi all,

I used the FSX B747-400 beacon lights and nav lights switches for my custom Posky B777 overhead.

The weird thing is that on the main panel I can see the Beacon Lights switch and Nav lights switch move when pressing the switches on the overhead, but no lights are set to on /off.
Using the switches from the main panel set the lights to on/off  and also the switches on the overhead move on/off.

The working switches are from a ( FS2004 ) gau file and my switches are form a ( FSX) cab file.

Here the XML text from the Beacon light switch :

<Gauge Name="Beacon Lights Switch" Version="1.0">
   <Element>
      <Select>
         <Value>(A:Light beacon,bool)</Value>
         <Case Value="0">
            <Image Name="Switch_Lights_Bcn_Off.bmp" UseTransparency="Yes"/>
         </Case>
         <Case Value="1">
            <Image Name="Switch_Lights_Bcn_On.bmp" UseTransparency="Yes"/>
         </Case>
      </Select>
   </Element>
   <Mouse>
      <Help ID="HELPID_GAUGE_LIGHT_SWITCH_BEACON"/>
      <Cursor Type="Hand"/>
      <Click Event="TOGGLE_BEACON_LIGHTS"/>
   </Mouse>
</Gauge>

All suggestions are welcome.

Hi

The only thing I can see that is missing is the actual image size as in the 46,72 entry below..

            <Image Name="switch_off.bmp" ImageSizes="46,72" UseTransparency="Yes"/>

This “could” be the problem as gauges can be finicky beasts, one small error and it just will not work, but won’ tell you why.

The only other thing that I tend to do is to use underscores for the gauges name in the <Gauge name=  > entry.

Adding sizes to the XML file resulted in not saving half of the text.
I remarked that other XML switches do not have text for sizes either.

As a last try I returned to the Fs9 ligth switches from the B777-3000 gauge.
I modified the bitmaps background colors so that they match the color of the overhead.

Only then I run into the problem that the colors from the gauges do not match the overheads night colors.
Any idea on solving that ?

The gau file is not XML.
