Hi to you all; Im new in the forum.

I got the freeware C162 yesterday via F1 Agent. I use WIN 10 and FSX Steam and canceled the Windows Defender before install. In the library folder I ticked "Download".

But the setup File did not show up in the usual "Download" Folder!

So I I ticked Run/Open and the complete installation went succesfully without any failure posts.

But: Because I did not find the original download file, I could not install with administrators rights und could not back up the files on another safe place, as proposed in the manual. Evtl. reinstalling out of the ... steamapps\common\FSX-files is not recommended there.

(Other than here for the C182T downloaded a day before I found its F1 Purchase Setup.exe in the Standard download folder. I could easily back it or tick it with administrators rights).

Only later I found two C162 downloaded files in this other folder:
C:\User\admin\Appdata\Roaming\Flight1Purchase\flt1sf

F1Skycatcher.exe           with special symbol with red arrow
F1Skycatcher.exe.cfg

(In this place the F1_T182.exe and F1_T182.exe.cfg  are also found, while the original T182 F1 Purchase Setup.exe with special symbol with red arrow is in the download folder as said.)

My Questions:
Is that behaviour the normal way for the C162 installation?  Confused

Can I use the  C:\User\admin\Appdata\Roaming\Flight1Purchase\flt1sf\F1Skycatcher.exe    (with special symbol with red arrow) as backup for evtl. reinstall?

Or should I delete and reinstall with another way, if incorrect?

Thank for your help and kind regards

Hi,

Yes, please uninstall/delete all instances of the Skycatcher then run the Flight 1 Agent "As Administrator" (right click and select "Run as Administrator") and delete the existing Skycatcher download.

Then close/open the Agent, again running it As Administrator, and, following the directions as shown on the Flight 1 product page displayed in the Agent, download and install the Skycatcher.
Best,
Jim

Hi Jim,

thanks for instant reply. Smile

I just discovered the settings menue in the agent.
The download path I reported seems to be set as your standard path.

I had expected the usual . Windows shows it always visible in the explorer overview.

The other thing I saw: the box "Do not automatically open files after downloading" was unticked.

I think, with the tick in the box there you have more control und can run the installation again with administrator rights, whenever you´ll do that.

Should I change the default path and cause evtl. disorder in the agent library?
I think better No.
And as said with my Cessna T181T download there was the an expected additional entry in
C:\users\admin\downloads as well!

Knowing now where to find the files, I think at first I should only set the tick as mentioned above.

I executed some VFR flights, without navigation aids, all seems well.

Strange things only : the doors will shut a second after opening in the auxiliary panel or by key commands. (Same behaviour with the Cessna T182T!)
And choosing my airport addon Aerosoft Stuttgart X , than the Skycatcher as first flight brougt the deafault Stgt. scenery. In 2nd try new scenery was built and the addon airport opened.

Delete and new install: I understood your help, that I should do it the way described in any case.

Kind regards

Ubo
