Okay,  I deleted an OE local folder and subfolder by accident,  so I have tried dbxtract, as well as trying to convert dbx to eml but the convertor doesn't seem to work! ie. OE opens up when I click on dbx but doesn't display what looks like a retrieved file/folder .

Where can I look for my files (I emptied the 'deleted' folder too) and is there any way of restoring them as they were, as eml?

Take look at this OE-Mail Recovery software to repair the file. http://www.outlookexpressrepair.oemailrecovery.com/     I would make a copy of it before modifying the original.

Try also to restore the file using this online service. I found it in Google. https://onlinefilerepair.com/en/outlookexpress-repair-online.html
