    Posted: March-02-2014 at 12:16am
Hi All

I have noticed that, during a setup by FSI, while FSX is still under FSI control, that, in the final stages of trimming the aircraft, the Sim actually comes out of Pause/slew mode and starts to fly.

It does this just until it has  moved the aircraft and is trimmed for the approach and then returns to Pause/slew?

Yet, on other times, this does not happen and the aircraft completes it's alignment stage whilestill in pause/slew mode and then does the handover as normal??

Is this normal?

Thank you

Norm

Hi Norm,

It depends on your localizer deviation, the first stage is to stabilize the aicraft in pitch / trim / speed and altitude.

When stable and provided the runway selected has an ILS, FSiPanel will slowly SLEW your aircraft to align it perfectly with the localizer.

This mostly occurs on airport with offset loc course, like LIMJ for example, if you give it a try, you will see that your aircraft will be slewed to the left.

Hope this answer your question.

Have a nice day,

Thank you JP.

What actually happens though is that the sim comes alive (no slew and no pause) and flies the plane to it's alignment position?

It then goes back into pause mode waiting for the pilot to take control?

As I said it does not do this all the time as sometimes it does as you say and slews to it's alignment??

Thank you

Correct Norm, FSiPanel will let the plane fly until trimmed after a slew mode.
The reason is because when you enter slew mode and then quit the mode, the aircraft is not stable anymore.

FSiPanel let it fly until stable and then goes in PAUSE mode to allow you to take over.
