I notice that when using a LH pattern from RWY 34 at cylw, that the programmed altitudes are rather close to surrounding terrain. I know that FSI does not see terrain as per the manual so I have been manually adjusting alt during the circuit to a safer level.

Maybe I have missed it, but is there a way to re-adjust altitudes for each leg of a circuit before loading?

Also, I assume that each leg altitude change is dependent on the pilot changing the altitude in the MCP? (mine is a GoFlight one.)..... Is this correct.

I was just not sure how much automation FSI imparted to the flight. I'm guessing that once it does it's set up thing, the rest is up to the pilot,.... is this correct?

Thank you

Norm

Hi Norm,

Have a look at the Options Tab in Setup. You'll see what you can adjust, including the downwind altitude.

You should observe the altitude minimums outlined on the chart you are using.

And yes, the pilot flying (you) is in charge when FSiPanel returns control to the crew.

Sounds like you have a good understanding of what FSiPanel does.
Best,
Jim

Thanks Jim

I already knew that alt options were available there.

As far as min altitudes on charts, I haven't been looking there, so I guess  I shouldOuch

Kinda reminds me of the time I was in a 172 over Niagara Falls NY and the ATC  told me to get to hell out of their area???
(those were the days)
