I recently purchased GEX North America 2.0; but every time I run the GEXInterface.exe file to setup GEX, my antivirus McAfee quarantines the file as a threat.
Any help/suggestions. Thanks, David Bourne Canada

Hi David, We have not updated that file for a long time... it is likely a false-positive. You could maybe exclude the EXE in the interface, or send the file to McAfee for examination and whitelisting... With so many security products out there, and so many EXE and DLL files, false positives are common. We do not have McAffee here so we cannot test it.

The solution: Top of forum list here in this forum, under the announcement section at the top; Ground Environment X Series - SimForums.com Discussion - Page 1 In the forum list you see on the main page, below Announcements: Forum Topics: 6th topic down in the list: It has been a known issue with AV/malware scanners at Flight1 for 8 years+ due to AV/Malware companies not caring and not responding to whitelist requests. At least that is what the developers for the products were told. Developer make the products... Flight1 just packages and sells them. Of course, Flight1 may have never actually have taken the time to try and have these files excluded/whitelisted over the many years they were a problem and just BS'd all the developers, that they did. Dunno! Hard to say However... WELL KNOWN SOLUTION: Please follow the directions in the linked post above and exclude the GEX directory outlined in that post above... your AV scanner with GEX issue will be resolved. |

Thanks Steve and Nick.
Sorry for the delay in replying. The solution of putting the file on the excluded list worked and I was able to complete the install. Again much appreciated. -David Bourne
