Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to JP for his support earlier today.  It got me up and running.Tongue

OK, I have watched the Videos, very good and I have done a few approaches 8nm and a left down wind, very good.

Now, In the video  the FMC has the approach programmed in.  Not sure how that happens, apart from you have to do that when sat on the ground and before you start FSIPanel. On the circuit you can load the route that FSIPanel generates, no problem.

So, am I correct in this assumption that for approaches outside of IFLY  you have to to that manually as I have stated?

Nearly forgot, I have been at EGCC with the approaches but when I looked into the FMC the arrival airport was LFMNConfused

Thanks

Clive

Hi Clive, you're welcome!

The FMC is not set by FSiPanel, except if you want to fly a traffic pattern, in that case, once the aircraft is loaded and ready for T/O, import route FSIPANEL01 in your FMC and you will have your traffic pattern ready to be flown.

for your FMC:

Before taking controls, just enter destination airport and select your approach in the FMC, you will then have a correct picture on your NAV display.

If you intend to fly several approaches on the same runway, program your FMC once, take control and once established on the ILS, take a SANPSHOT (not available for Q400 and Airbus X), this will save all your cockpit parameters, including minimums and FMC.

When ready to repeat the approach, load the snapshot... please note that you can change the weather before loading the Snapshot, you can then fly for example CAT I, CAT II, CAT III and go-around.

Wish you safe landings,

J-P
