Setting window size

I would like to to set the window size of my panel to the same size as my monitor it will be displayed on so that the panel window, in full screen mode will completely fill the screen with no borders (while setting up the panel). 
Is there a reliable way to do this?  I am trying to set up my panel behind a gauge cutout template for a simpit.  Thanks for the help.
