    Posted: November-11-2005 at 8:37am

I am trying to develop a panel containing the basic instruments e.g. ASI, RMI, PFD, ND, Alt, VSI and clock so I can do some raw data flying with the 767. The aim is to have the instruments actual life size as in the cockpit.

If I set the size of the panel to 1280 X 1024, when it runs in FS2004 it gets scaled down vertically. I assume due to the Window title and task bar. Using a panel size of 1280 X 900 works a bit better bit some scaling takes place in the vertical again. Removing the task bar at runtime gives some inconsistent scaling as well.

Does anyone have experience / advice re how to keep a designed panel from scaling? Are there any documents giving any further information?

All help much appreciated.

FS2004 likes things to be in a 640/480 ratio, so this may explain why your 1280x900 panel looks better. You can use the Window_size parameters to try and fine tune the size and position of Windows, but utimately what you see depends on your final window resolution as well and how FS2004 decides to scale the windows.

Dear Ed,

Many thanks for that. I'll attempt to keep to that ratio and do some trial and error work.
