You will hear more news about this shortly, but here is a sneak peek of the Cessna 162 SkyCatcher. This is one of the current planes we are doing in official partnership with Cessna Aircraft Company.

Again, stay tuned for more news and info!

Pretty plane!  What's the hp on that engine?  What's her cruising speed?

I fly 150 with a O-200 (90hp) and a 152 with an O-235 (110hp).  I never had an issue with the lower HP of the O-200 but I hate the sound it generates.

Yes, the G300 system should be quite neat.

Oooh! A little slow for my liking but I'm sure it will be up to the same standards as the Mustang (sort of lol), which means it will have a spot in the ole hangar.

Is what the plane has a yick or a stoke?  It's kind of a hibrid of the two.  Either way, Im wired.  I have both.

With Cessna having 1000 orders so far for the SkyCatcher, they should make their way to Canada pretty quickly.

OMG, I love you guys!  162 and 182.  I must be dreaming!  I know the Flight 1 release date policy and agree with it.  But, is there a chance the 162 will be out before May?  My flying club has production #43.  Cessna told us to expect delivery in May or June.  It would be nice to get a head start with an accurate simulation.

Looks like your plane might be out before Cessna's, lol. Cessna announced another delay of 10 - 12 months on the real thing. LOL

Your 162 looks great, and I look forward to your 182. Any chance you can put SVT on the G1000 (I am might be purchasing a real T206H G1000 SVT towards the end of the year).

SVT is not supported. It simply cannot be for an entertainment product.

If you have a customer base willing to pay the freight, sure they are.  That is why people make training platforms (see Flight1technologies at http://flight1tech.com/index.asp).

I'm looking forward with great interest to the upcoming C162. I've already the Mustang in my vHangar, an extraordinary plane for FSX.

Thx for the screenshots. I really do appreciate the sophisticated artwork as well as the obviously splendid cooperation with Cessna company! Clap

Getting back on topic, I'm glad the Sky Catcher is in development and can hardly wait for it's release. I have my plastic on "stand-by" Smile

"Company 'X'" has made a 162 that works very nice in FS9, but does not function properly in FSX/SP2. The Garmin 300 is very interesting to work with and I enjoy it, but I had to resurrect FS9 which has been... a pain. I might be wrong on this, but, I believe Cessna is releasing the new Sky Catcher with the Garmin 300 as standard avionics. I'd settle for steam gauges for sim if it performs correctly in FSX/SP2.

A Skylane with a G1000 would be nice too. Carenado has made very fine fixed and retractable gear Skylanes. I enjoy the challenge of "flying" with the minimal avionics that their whole line of products feature, but up-to-date avionics would be a nice change too.

Blue Sky Wishes,

Dave

That's really great to hear, Steve.  I'm sure the SkyCatcher will be a very popular aircraft for you.  With it's trike gear design, Garmin avionics package, and photogenic lines, I think a lot of people will be eager to "own" one!

I'll bet a coffee that Jim will say, "yes, we are talking 2010 or not."  Looking back at history, I think the ATR generated so much anticipatory hype and then it took longer than expected.  That created a considerable amount of controversy that I am sure Jim, et'al want to never go thru the same experience again.

I'll take Steve at his word and remind myself that Jim always says, "it'll be out when it's out."  Watch this page or the forum for impending release indications.  When things are close, the NDA's get removed and people start talking and posting images.  THEN you know it's close.
