Hi Everybody,

i just purchased studio Panel and wanted to change a panel as described in this video;

Before i started i copied the panel.cfg file and saved it somewhere else, then i carried out the procedure like in the video and it worked but i was not 100% happy with the result so i deleted the panel.cfg file and replaced it with the original, but now when i want change it again i get the error message that all the XML files cannot be read or found?

please can you help me this is driving me crazy, i spent all night trying to work this out.

Thanks in advance

Mark

Hi Mark,

Simply replacing the panel.cfg file shouldn't cause this, which suggests that more than just the panel.cfg file was removed when you deleted it.

The simplest solution would be to reinstall the aircraft you're trying to modify, which will restore it to the default state.

Cheers,

Alastair

Hi Mark,

I know that with FS2004 one can extract individual aircraft from the original CDs. Possibly the same is true for FSX, although as I don't use it myself I can't confirm this.

The 737-800 has its gauges in a file named B737_800.cab in the panel folder. Sounds like you've deleted that by mistake.

You should restore the files for the folder <FSX>\SimObjects\Airplanes\B737_800 from your system backup.

FS Panel Studio automatically makes backups of the panel.cfg file, you should not manually delete files from FSX.
