I apologize if this has been asked before about the P51D. I am unable to find it.

I am trying to turn on the autopilot:

  • Avionics are turned on.
  • The Bendix King Panel is visible with SHFT 2
  • The ALT and VS can be entered.
  • The Autopilot Button shows (off) and will not turn on.

Is this capabilty functional in the Model?

If yes, how to I turn it on.

THANKS in Advance. Great FS Model. Very enjoyable to fly and SUPERB graphics.

Mrcleanice

I'm not familiar with this addon but one thing to check is to see if you have a command conflict somewhere or see if the command to turn on the AP is set in your key/axis/button commands.

Also, what sim are you using this aircraft in?

Thanks John!

I'm using FSX with Acceleration. I'll check the command in the key/axis/button command! I don't have this problem in any other addon. (many!)

I'll get back to you.

Best Regards,

Jim

Are you using Win 7 or Win 10?

I don't have that product.  Does it have updates, such as the autopilot, or is this something you added?

Curious that a WWII-vintage fighter aircraft would have an autopilot.
Best,
Jim

Thanks for the note. It's the  out of the box Flight1 P51D. Many of the historical models have AP's.

My interest in the WWII planes is strictly to "understand" the look and feel of the  flight dynamics, the cockpits, etc.

Definitely shouldn't be there in real life /real time but it is nice to fly some of these aircraft cross-country to enjoy the scenery and the beauty of the designs.

BTW  using W7.

Regards,

Jim

Thanks for the reply.

Using W7.
Hoping one of the developers can answer the question! I'm good either way.

Regrettably, this product is in the legacy category.  Perhaps another user will have some info for you.
Best,
Jim
