Managed to complete the beta this morning so I have posted the corrected OpusFSI Beta Version 4.60.3.

Good news and bad news, I'm afraid!

Good news:
1) Install & camera setup went OK. I set up 1 Wv at NZAR, then 3 at NZWN.
2) Switching to a Wv works fine.

Bad News:
Repeated presses of the same stick button (or key combo) only bring up the single (nearest) Wv - even when they're quite close by. However - selection via the views menu works fine!

That is ok, the button doesn't cycle views, only brings up the nearest world view.

Phew! Thanks, Cheryl. Not sure whether that was documented (as, inevitably, I didn't RTFM) - but cycling was the way it worked before, so I just presumed it was the same. Do I need to go back to my original "Plan A" and assign unique keys to unique views?

Hi Adam

Refer to the notes at the beginning of the thread for the three options you have, you can use unique keys/buttons. We haven't had cycling of the world views before.

Hi Cheryl ... well - in a strange way maybe we did (!!) ... but only when the distance thing was broken! I may be wrong, but I could've sworn they were cycling in one of the earlier betas.

Back to the current beta though: I still can't get different local Wv's to "bind" to unique stick buttons. It always just goes to the nearest one - regardless of which button is used. As said before though - the Wv's work OK from the view menu.

I will check the separate button assignments before preparing the release version.

I will also look to see if I can cycle the WVs the same as other views with the proviso that they are always local.

I'm afraid it's not *quite* working for me (but *almost*!).

I have three totally unique (local) Wv's set up around NZWN. One at each end of the runway and one in a pseudo plane spotters' gallery on top of one of the terminals - ie. sort of in the middle.

No keys bound, but each of the three views is mapped to a separate X52 rocker switch (button) - and were set up totally from scratch from an FSI with all old Wv cameras removed.

When the aircraft is parked at one end of the runway, 2 of the 3 views work as advertised, but the 3rd one toggles between itself and one of the other cameras. If I move the aircraft down to the other end of the runway, a different pair toggle.

Regardless of where I put the aircraft, I can never get the three views to work totally separately/independently of each other.

I'm not at the PC now, but if you like I'll run the test again but making note of which camera is doing what (and where the aircraft is).

I've yet to try mapping all three views to the same button - to see if they cycle nicely - I thought I'd carry on trying to get the three separate/unique views to behave first.

I re-read the instructions (1st post in this thread) just to check. I really didn't do anything naughty. Stayed at NZWN for the complete test and certainly didn't use the "A" key or go to a non-local Wv (there weren't any others defined anyway).

My feeling (untested) is that the view closest to the aircraft (even though they're all local) is somehow hogging the limelight - and is getting a higher priority. Very scientific, eh? LOL!

Adam.

Thanks Adam, I'll try a similar set up with three local WVs, I'll put one central to the runway and see why its behaving like that. The code is trying to merge several different processes at the moment so probably a mix up somewhere.

OK. There's still a conflict between old 'nearest' and new 'cycling' software. Shouldn't take too long to resolve. Thanks for the report Adam.

I know the feeling. I've just spent all day trying to re-code a PHP project that branches all over the place - ifs, loops - you name it. After 5 hours I wiped the lot and went back to an earlier (working) version. Ho hum!

Adam.

EDIT: Messages crossed ... just read your note. Sounds like a GOTCHA!! to me ;-)

All works well - great stuff!!! :-) :-) :-)

I deleted/remade all my Wv cameras:

3 at NZWN (as before) - each bound to separate buttons.
3 at NZAR - all bound to a single 4th button.

All worked correctly - and I used the "Go to airport" function (but whilst in the Vc) to jump back and forth between NZAR and NZWN. The distant Wv's didn't trigger at any time - all good! No issues.

The only (minor) irritation is the old thing about some sort of a "default" (external) view being flashed up before it goes to the Wv. This may be the generic OPUS problem, but it'd be a real blessing if it could be avoided somehow. On my fairly average system, you find yourself seeing that intermediate screen for maybe longer than on fast systems.

Recording air-shows is going to be fun!

Adam.

Thanks Adam.

I have to flash up the OpusFSI Custom External view prior to selecting (cycling to) the required WV as that's the only means I have of displaying the WV. Unfortunately, its not possible to tell the sim to simply display the selected WV, so I must cycle to it from the External view and I must allow the sim time to settle into displaying the External view otherwise it fails.

I will see about adding an explanation in the WV documentation.
