Hi Stephen,
I did another flight with the latest beta.
All my settings are as you advised. The winds aloft are rock steady, but still very low speeds (30 knots at fl300 over the North Sea today).
Just for testing, I then set the recovery altitude to 50000, restarted OpusFsx and the aloft winds had doubled in speed.
So my question is: should recovery alt be at 0 for the most accurate aloft winds?

Other then that, OpusFsx is so amazingly good, accurate, fast, easy to use and offers an immersion level that I never encountered before.

Hi Jos

I am please to report that our unique methods of wind smoothing incorporated into the previous beta version 2.21.10 and the new release version 2.22 has now eradicated the winds aloft problem. We also no longer believe the additional FSUIPC4 wind smoothing is necessary. Hence, the transition and recovery altitudes have now been removed.

Sorry I didn't answer this post before, it must have slipped through the radar. Smile

Onwards and upwards ...

Regards
Stephen
