OpusMSFS Beta Version 1.09.1 has now been posted, see the Announcements topic.

This beta improves the flight planning and includes additional useful button options within the OpusMSFS Flight Planning form.

Work in Progress ..

I'm now looking at adding a right-click option on the OpusMSFS Map to allow User Waypoints to be created and added to (copy and pasted into) the flight plan.

OpusMSFS Beta Version 1.09.2 has now been posted, see the Announcements topic.

This beta includes support for simplified user specified (and named) LatLon fixes within the flight plan. These fixes can be identified on the OpusMSFS Map and simply pasted into a user's flight plan. Ideal for specifying Point Of Interest (POIs) or geographic landmarks into a flight plan.

OpusMSFS Beta Version 1.09.4 has now been posted, see the Announcements topic.

This beta improves flight planning and the user specified (and named) LatLon fixes within the flight plan. See Below.

The above flight plan provides a scenic route from EGCV (Sleap airfield) to EGNC (Carlise) via the Lake District. Routing overhead Hawarden airport, Liverpool airport, Anfield (Liverpool and Everton football grounds), Birkdale Southport airfield, Blackpool airport, scenic tour through the Lake District National Park, and on to Carlisle airfield. If interested in the flight cut and paste the following plan into your OpusMSFS Flight Planning form.

EGCV EGNR EGGP N53.438710W2.958326:ANFIELD EGCO EGNH N54.274647W2.954464:WINDMERE N54.361458W2.935238:BELLEISLE N54.421127W2.965279:AMBLESIDE N54.457366W3.024158:GRASSMERE N54.532139W3.061495:THIRLMERE N54.561562W3.068619:LEGBURT N54.600014W3.137970:KESWICK N54.670009W3.243885:DUBWATH EGNC

After Processing the flight plan simply Load (SPACE bar) the OPUSMSFS.PLN file into FS2020 simulator's World Map screen.

Unfortunately it is still there. In link to the video you will see, that after start OPUSFSI works as it should be, but after ~5 sec it (opusfsi) closes and doesn't respond (not in Task manager as well)

What additional info could help to find the reason?

Looks like you have either a licensing or AV (Win Defender) problem.

What does the generated FSISERVER.log file say.
Have you installed in c:\OpusMSFS and set your sharing and permissions as per the Getting Started Guide.
Have you allowed FSISERVER.EXE through the Firewall on both private and public networks.
Can the program download its OpusBL.dat license check file.

Make sure you have shutdown any AV software and running FSISERVER in Admin Mode.

Have you tried running the FSISERVER.EXE program on its own without the sim.

There will be a simple reason why the program is shutting down, could simply be being blocked.

additional info...

The content of the generated FSISERVER.log file.
The presence of the downloaded OpusBL.dat file.
Run FSISERVER in Admin Mode without the sim and open the main Spy window.

We’ll soon find the reason.

What is the dialog displayed prior to running the FSISERVER program?

There should be no need to answer any Windows or security query prior to running the FSISERVER program.

Is this your security system (AV or Win Defender) if so shut it down as it could be terminating the FSISERVER as soon as the program attempts to download its BL data file.

I use F-Secure as AV, but disable it always before starting MSFS. OpuFSI was working, but such behavior started to appier when I first time mentioned about it here, on forum.

OK,

FSIGENCOM Termination Code = 13

This means your FSISYSTEM.DLL file does not validate or match the rest of the installation. Did you upgrade while the MSFS simulator or OpusMSFS was active and running ?

With neither the sim nor OpusMSFS running...

You should download the release version again, use Windows to Uninstall your current version, and then re-install using the downloaded OpusMSFS.msi file.

Your licence file (.lic) needs to be in the c:\Opus Software folder. Check that it is and make sure you haven’t installed it in a different drive or folder.

Hello, for those MSFS users using live view from an MSFS server flying PC to at least one MSFS client PC, have you had OPUSFSI client crash issues? My client keeps crashing after a couple minutes or less of flying. I'm wondering if there is a buffering issue with the MSFS data being downloaded on both at different rates while flying etc or if I have some config issue.
Maybe there is a crash file I can grab to debug, just to figure out where it is.

Also, does anyone have a "dummy" airplane (e.g. no airplane) to use for the client PC? I just use the client PC with 3 monitors for exterior in front of the cockpit windows for visual flying in addition my server PC monitor used for flying and inside the cockpit view.

Hi Peter,

I suspect those wishing to use multiple MSFS systems may need to wait for further MS and Asobo upgrades as the current MSFS sim will always put a severe strain on any network bandwidth when multiple MSFS sims all attempt to download scenery.

MS and Asobo will eventually have to offer support for cockpit builders and multiple sims/display, no idea when they will achieve that as its taken a while for the 'true sim' side of things to be incorporated (still very much work in progress).

I don't think MS or Asobo fully appreciated what 'being a true flight sim' entailed.

Good luck with your quest. Please keep us all informed of any progress.

Regards
Stephen

Thanks Stephen! :)

Is there a Opus file I can go open to debug and try to get an idea what my issue is?
Fyi - I have both of my PCs (flying (server) + outside cockpit view (client)) connected to a network switch and then that switch connects directly to a router.

No there isn’t. You could try running the client sim in Developer mode and see if you can monitor things that way. Also try reducing the client sim scenery and display options to an absolute minimum, that should minimise the amount of data it needs to download. You can also run the client and server side Live View Tests for an extended period.
