A prerequisite for using the GTN750 is the installation of Garmin Trainer.  I am trying to install this on a new Windows 7 pro 64 bit installation.  No software, other than motherboard drivers and Windows updates have been installed on the ssd disk.  I also tried installing on Windows 10 and on Windows 7 Ultimate.  The Garmin software I have tried installing: Garmin Trainer Setup 2310/2500 and GTN_GDU620PCTrainer_6011.

In the instances of the first two the installation fails, the message returned being 'There is a problem with the Windows Installer Error Code 0x80070643'.  With the latter the same message is returned but with error  1722.  As far as the latter is concerned I searched for solutions, tried all, but none worked. 

I do not think that the problem is associated with my PC hardware as I did have the same problem with different hardware some years ago -  unfortunately I have forgotten the solution that I then adopted. 

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Hello,

Have you tried contacting Garmin about the issue? They would be able to provide you support for the trainer if you are having issues with the installation of their software.

No, I did not, but I have just emailed them about it.  The reason for my not contacting them prior to your message was that last time, I think it was you or one of your colleagues, who provided a work aground.  At the time I assumed that I was not alone in relation to this problem. Currently, there are 47,500 returns to the query 'Garmin GTN Trainer Windows Installation error' via google.

Hello Stuart,

I understand, but we do not provide support for the GTN Trainer itself. You would need to talk with Garmin about the issue. Once you have it working correctly, then I would then pursue the purchase of our GTN Software.

As I wrote, I have contacted Garmin.  However, I have long ago purchased the GTN software, I am just trying to reinstall it.

Okay, when you mentioned "prerequisite", I thought you had not purchased this yet. I would then go seek help in the GTN Licensed forum area to see if dev or any others can help sort your issues.

Yes Jeff, sorry about that.  I assumed that I was in the correct forum and that that meant that I had already registered the purchase.
