Is there a marked improvement from GEX to GEP3D?
I have GEX on my FSX Steam setup.
If I add GEP3D to my Prepar3d set up will it look better or just a FSX GEX rewind?

I flew FSX boxed and later FSX Steam with GEX & UTX for a good number of years before upgrading my system.

I don't have a side-by-side comparison as I installed P3Dv5.1 with GEP3D (and UTX) on a new build, a new 64-bit sim, and a new Graphics Card -- only my monitor is the same, but subjectively I am very pleased and do believe there is a definite improvement.   How much each part of the overall hardware and system upgrade, the simulator upgrade, and the change to GEP3D (from GEX) each themselves contribute I can't say.

I'm just tickled with the end results!

One thing that is a big plus with Flight1, is you have a trial period to see if it works well for you.  I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've never used Orbx, but this is from the GEP3D product page:

"NOTE: GEP3D will work with all Orbx FTX 'regional' products and individual airport products.

This product is not compatible with FTX Global. FTX Global must be properly uninstalled and all the default sim control files restored before enabling GEP3D in Prepar3D. FTX Global can not be installed after GEP3D. The two products are not compatible in any way.

So it would appear your info is correct regarding the Regional Orbx products.
