I wonder if anyone has used these two products together?
How would the units fit into the A36 panel and most importantly, does the RXP Garmin 430 which is included with the A36 work seamlessly with FSAvidyne gauges? Overall, I have seen very few pictures of FSAvidyne installed in any panels, other than the Cirrus which already has spots for the screens. I'm a little concerned on how they will fit into various panels. |

It's not really a case of the gauges fitting the panels, it's a matter of the panels accepting the gauges. VC's are notorious for not having the necessary polygons to implement 3rd party gauges, with a few notable exceptions. As for complete and seamless integration, I can't say. There have been issues with it being necessary to export the flight plan from the GPS to get it to appear on secondary gauges. It's is a simple one click proceedure and really has little effect on the sense of reality. Hopefully somebody can chime in on their experience... or you could wait for the weekend and I will cobble a panel together and tell you myself. |

Thanks Paul!
Yeah, I'm aware of the limitations as far as VCs go. I'm not expecting a visually perfect fit by any means. The purpose for me to use the FSAvidyne gauges would be to familiarize myself with the basic of Entegra, so in theory even I just had the screens and the flight model it would be fine. Integration with the 430 does not sound to bad considering my purposes. Hard to say though as I don't know what to expect, how does a GNS 430 unit integrate with Entegra displays in reality? I assume it shows the flight plan route and some other relevant information. Before anyone mentions, I'm aware of the professional product offered by F1 Tech, but I find it a little too expensive for my case as I will only be flying five hours of training flights with an Entegra equipped plane. |

Hi Paul
Can you tell more about this "one click procedure" to bring up the FPL info from RXP 430 to the MFD ? I purchased and installed the FSAvidyne set into the A36, but so far I only managed to get the next waypoint to show on the PFD, but the MFD TRIP page is blank, as is the MAP display. |

Review the docs on the GNS... one of the buttons (or at least a hot spot on the gauge face) is an export fpl button.

There are no GNS specific docs available as this is the non-transferrable version included with the A36. I looked through the whole instrument with tool tips on for clues and tried to left and right click everything with no implication of an FPL being exported.
Could it be that the "integrated" version does not support flight plan exporting? |

Page 7 of Reality XP Gns User's Guide v5.2.pdf available on the RXP website which is probably the same as the docs that came with the A36 that are burried in some obscure folder. In any case, here is the link. http://reality-xp.com/support/trainingcenter/userguides/index.html If I recall correctly, that will get you started. |

Ok, the problem was I didn't figure out that I will actually need to activate the flight plan using the sim's Flight planner after I have exported it from the GPS unit. A bit more than a single click
![]() There is no indication of the export being done by the way, the .pln file will just appear in the folder. I see is that the plan will function on the MFD more or less like a default FS GPS plan, which means any changes made to it will not be reflected on the MFD. For example, if I drift off course and select a direct-to my next waypoint, the track change will not be visible on the MFD, only the original FPL route, like it is on the RXP unit. A bit of a disappointment but I guess you can't have it all.. |

I never felt much like messing with RXP and other electronic flight displays, I've kept RXP with RXP for the sake of simplicity (coded to work together more seamlessly). There have been an untold number of threads on the use of the SDK by all the various vendors and no two parties seem to agree on what the book says so we end up with strange incompatibilities or quirks. What happens if you change the plan in the GNS and export, again? Does the driven gauge take the new flight plan?
