I am new at this and would appreciate any help from fellow members.

I have download load some nice panels for fs9, but I now would like to use some of gauges in the panels to create a new panel for fsx. I am lost as to where I should start.

what root directory mode should I  set in FS panel?

 Please help

Hi,

If memory serves you can "point" to where FS2004 and/or FSX is installed in the Configuration settings.

Once you have the panel to be edited open you can then start to replace the gauges. The FSPS "swap" option is very useful here !

Probably the easiest way to use these FS9 gauges is to copy them to your FSX gauges folder - for example c:\<install folder for fsx>\Gauges. If you want to keep the FS9 gauges separate, create a folder within the main Gauges folder and put them there.

In FSPS, when adding a gauge just navigate to this new folder and you should be able to see them.

Thank you both for responding so fast, I will try using the methods mentioned.

Right, now I have another problem my fsps keeps crash on me when I try to add a gauge. ( basic message fsps encountered a problem )

If you gentlemen could give your thoughts on how to fix this issue would be most appreciated.

Once again, Thank You

You will need to supply details. What gauge, what panel, what you're trying to do, the exact error message, what OS version, what version of FSPS, etc.

Sounds like this gauge may be copy protected. Who is the vendor - does it require a license key?

No it is not copy protected and does not require a license.

The os I am using is xp pro not windows 7 pro bit 64 sorry about that, I going to try something uninstall all microsoft simulation programs fs9 & fsx. Install them again and than reinstall fsps and see what happens, I will notify you with the results.

Thank You

Contact support@fspanelstudio.com and send a copy of the "bad" gauge and we'll try to reproduce the problem.

I posted on this before  heres The Situation.   I have a few FS9 planes that work in fsx Now when I save the panel to fsx and go fly the plane  I get Fatal erros, Seems to happen to all fs9 to fsx aircraft?  Interesting  at best!
