EZCA 3.1 for P3D v5 here!!! (beta)

I copied the folders over as instructed, also tried folders and files. I only get one simconnect version to show under advanced.

Any help would be greatly appreciated to use EZCA on windows 11.

With WIN11

Ezdok does not work with P3Dv4.5HF3 either.

If you did an update to win11 from an existing win 10 install then c:/windows_old folder contains the simconnect folders for your pc

change the ownership of c:/windows/WinSxS and probably c:\windows_old/WinSxS

give ' everyone ' modify permission

the primary simconnect version used by ezdok is

x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_none_7a98ffdea9fe1e16

You should also copy the manifest and catalog files in

C:/windows_old/WinSXS/manifests and c:/windows_old/winSxs/catalogs

this what they look like after a fix - the key is too include the version number in folder name

and have the simconnect.dll file ONE level below the primary simconnect folder

fusion folder has it 2 or 3 levels below

before a fix fusion folder

Fresh win11 installs Not a win10 update

After a lot more testing I figured out how to recreate the installed simconnect versions. This ensures my fix is not influenced by a pre-existing win10 install.

I will provide details if necessary but in the meantime here is an overview

1. In WinSxS/fusion there should be a folder for each version you installed

The fix involves re-organising the folder and getting it into WinSxS using win 10 format
Nothing is deleted
you need to change the ownership of Both c:/Windows/WinSxS and c:/Windows/WinSxS/ Fusion and give ‘ everyone ‘ modify permission

The simconnect.dll files may need a change of ownership too

My old windows winsys contains one simconnect file and its filename ends in e16

My new windows winsys contains one simconnect file and its filename ends in 568

I have trouble following your instructions.

When I downloaded / installed Ezdok from the Flight 1 purchase Agent for the new WIN 11 Upgrade I noticed no Add-ons drop down in flight sim top menu.

So, I have uninstalled Ezdok ver 3 and 3.1 for now.

Sure would have been nice for the developer to stay up to date with windows.

The file reference code is unique to each PC so Focus search on the middle part of the folder name.

Most used version for fsx acc. p3d v4/5 and ezdok is 10.0.61259.0

Other version offered by ezdok is 10.60905.0 no idea why

I installed fsx steam version to test it , which is 10.0.62615.0

Just do a file explorer search for 10.0.61259.0 etc

Update : i don’t blame the dev, there was no reason I can think of for Microsoft to cripple legacy simconnect installs

the fusion folder in win 11 is acting as an archive for the installed simconnects - not usable

the structure is the problem - the simconnect.dll file is buried under sub folders

With WIN11 after changing permissions (Share / everyone / read/write for WinSxS and Security Tab also) I get WIN11 folder permissions cannot be changed message.

I think it was under Security tab Full control read and write were all grayed out , could not be changed.

I see only TrustedUser has Full Control.

Did you have the same issue?

Note:

I set share/permissions on a desktop folder for everyone and no problem.

Is the procedure to copy / paste just Simconnect files withing folders Old win to new win folders?

Or is it moving the full contents of the folders Old to New. My first thought is no.

For example, my old and new Catalog folders do not have any Simconnect files in them.

And, my old WIN does not have a Fusion folder whereas the new Win does have one Simconnect file name ending with .... 16

My old Winsxs has one Simconnect file name ending with .... 568

and the new Winsxs has no simconnect files.

your new winsxs does have simconect files if you installed legacy simconnect versions

they are buried in folder Fusion and in the wrong names / stupid subfolder setup

in earlier testing I did use everyone - then I found that because I login using my MS account it works too

if/when this is sorted and ezdok is working you change the Users permission back to only

Ok, I see what you mean about permissions Everyone now.

I did recently read on internet TrustedInstaller is so Win11 can do Windows Updates etc automatically so changing it back would be necessary.

This is update only !!!

Short instructions for Win11 users.

1. Install EZCA via Flight1 agent.

2. Download and install EZCA 3.2 update.

3. Run new configure tool (v3.2) from installed folder.

4. Configure tool will show warning message - "The simconnect did not found". Run EZsc_loader.exe manually. EZsc_loader - it is a small tool which improve situation with simconnect for win11. This file placed here (after update to 3.2 version) :

C:\Program Files\EZCA3.1\EZsc_loader\EZsc_loader.exe

5. When EZsc_loader is finished , run configure tool manually and continue configure P3D normally.

In fact, only one step is added - manually launching EZsc_loader.exe before launch configure tool which fixes the problem with simconnect. This must be launch once.

This assembly is in beta testing.

Thanks, it works, but the quick-look outside camera is no longer working properly. It remains stuck at the initial position (i.e. departure airport/gate).

May be..Win11 have some deep changes with win10 or other old windows. This can influence to ez functions (in theory).

This update eliminate simconnect issue under win11 and adapted to Active Sky 7900 only.

Please report here any bugs for EZCA 3.2. We need collect all bugs , then fix them then release next version (bugfix).

Not sure what add-ons now use simconnect - many popular ones do not. I will check

The only way to communicate with the P3D simulator is via simconnect. It's just that developers don't want to focus on this. HIFI uses the Simconnect API + DMA to extend the functionality of simconnect (undocumented capabilities). But in recent years, P3D Simconnect has changed the interface and in the latest versions many new features have been added that are completely useless for EZCA. It was decided to leave it as it is and use the original simconnect interface from ESP. For EZCA, it makes no difference which interface use to interact with the simulator.

Further testing

SIM PC ONLY - no networking with client - NO other legacy simconnect versions installed

P3D v5 - ASP3D V7877 - working - turbulence verified successfully

Pilots FS Real Global Weather - connecting - weather data transfer successful

FSDT GSX/GSX level 2/ sode - under investigation - errors appearing

This "EZsc_loader" fix for EZCA only !

"Sode" needs checking somconnect.dll in the "Fusion" and sub folders. Only Sode develpers can fix this problem.

Yes . After install 3.2 under win10 do next steps:

EZCA configure tool -> for advanced users , select 10.0.61259.0 simconnect or check it.

Also you can use EZsc_loader for win10 too ! After applying EZsc loader - run configure tool then select "11.0.61259.0" simconnect. This isolate simconnect from potential problems with other add-ons. (undocumented feature).

This tool made to fix simconnect problem under win11 for all versions EZCA !

After install , just open EZ configure tool - for advanced users - select simconnect versions begin "11". For example - "11.0.61259.0".

For users 3.0 versions under win11. The EZ configure tool can not find any versions simconnect without this loader. It can arise "List of bounds -1" error mrssage.

Just run EZsc_loader , then run configure tool again.
