Dear EZCA3 users!

We are starting an open beta test of the new version of EZCA3.1.

This version is completely similar to version 3.0, but only compatible with Prepar3D v5!

Version 3.1 is an update for version 3.0, i.e. the EZCA v3 version must be installed in the system.
The new version 3.1 is installed in a separate folder (Program files/EZCA3.1).
So if you continue to use P3D4 or FSX in parallel with P3D5, version 3.0 will load with these simulators, and version 3.1 with P3D5.

Both versions use the same DB with saved settings and cameras. Therefore, when you switch to P3D5, you get all your settings and cameras that were previously configured in EZCA v3.0.
Now, any changes to cameras and settings in EZCA3.1 will automatically be reflected in EZCA3.0 and Vice versa.

Important note!
After installing the new version 3.1, you will be asked to run the EZCA Config tool - this must be done!

Config tool will write new paths for starting EZCA3.1 with P3D5 and configure the simulator.

Important note!
When installing any new aircraft in P3D v5, you must re-run the EZCA Config tool.

This is a file Config.exe located in the /Program files/EZCA3.1/ folder.

Leave your feedback about the work of this version and all the bugs found in this forum thread.

Enjoy your fly with EZCA!

PLEASE START Prepar3D with admin rights !

Please disable Prepar3D v5  "Enable advanced mouse controls" option!
==============

Hi!
Make a video about how this happens. And show the settings in the EZCA "General settings" window.

Hello Nick and Marniftarr,

unfortunately the version does not work for me. I installed it as admin, which apparently also worked. The folder C:\EZCA3.1 was created, finally the installer executed the config.exe. I also have the EZCA VCAM in the menu right click but under Add-on in the menu there is no entry. The EZDO window does not open either.
The p3dV5 camera mouse control is still active.
Installed is a german Win10 version

Not for me either. No menu in add-ons, no functionality.

Awesome job! Works great. Installed it, ran the configure tool, added EZCA3.1 folder to antivirus exception, set EZCA.exe and resh.exe to run as administrator, launched P3Dv5 and I'm back using the best camera tool out there. Thanks for the update.

There is still the issue with the zoom slider in the Camera Control Panel - clicking the arrows at the top/bottom of the slider doesn't register until you then click on the slider control itself (for making fine adjustments), and the zoom value doesn't show in the box. But the slider itself works.

Cheers.

It is normal situation because ZOOM have not value on this panel. You can see value in top-right corner of simulator. (EZ does not know about calculated value in simulator and EZ using internal ZOOM scale)

Ok. But the 2 arrows don't change the zoom until you click back on the slider. All the other arrows (PBH,xyz) all work immediately.

Hi Randy,
if I start the EZCA.exe manually, it worksBig smile! Thanks for the hint!
I had already set the admin rights for the files, and in Windows Defender the folders were already excluded from the check. Unfortunately without luck...

Hi Frank. It sounds like your exe.xml file isn't correct. It's located in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\. Here's what mine currently looks like:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
<Descr>Launch</Descr>
<Filename>exe.xml</Filename>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>EZdok camera addon v3</Name>
<Disabled>false</Disabled>
<Path>C:\Program Files\EZCA3.1\EZCA.exe</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

The bold text is highlighting the important entries. It should get added automatically via the v3.1 Config Tool.

That means your cameras.cfg file appears to be correctly edited but it sounds like your exe.xml file wasn't (same as Frank). You'll know when you run EZCA.exe after starting the sim. If it still doesn't load, it's either the AV program blocking it or something else that might require a support ticket.

Hi Randy,
this is how the exe.dll looks like in my case:
Note the "dll.exe" in the 4th line:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
<Descr>Launch</Descr>
<Filename>dll.xml</Filename>     Shocked
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>EZdok camera addon v3</Name>
<Disabled>false</Disabled>
<Path>C:\Program Files\EZCA3.1\EZCA.exe</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

have changed the "filename" to exe.dll  -  without success.

Possibly the Defender of Windows10 blocks somewhere here. All corresponding files and folders are already on the white list.....
Thanks for your Help

Frank

That doesn't look right. Are you sure that you edited the exe.xml file and not a dll.xml file? I have a clean install of P3Dv5 and do not have a dll.xml file in my appdata/roaming folder. It probably gets created by certain add-ons that require P3D to load a dll file. But I don't see any other entries in yours so something is strange there. Perhaps you installed a different add-on then removed it?

Change the entry to

<Filename>exe.xml</Filename>

and save the file as exe.xml. Be careful you spell these correctly.

I had already changed the entry without success - no entry in the add-on menu.
I have deleted the exe.dll in the folder C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\  .Then I installed ezca again. As a result a new exe.dll was written which again has the dll.xml entry:

 There is no dll.xml file in my folder either.

Guys ! The Prepar3d must be started with admin rights !  Only !
 If not - windows will blocking some API functions like a write to C: folders or acess to registry.

yakatan , leftseat
Are you mean that EZCA working when you start it manually after start P3D ?
What happen during P3D launch ? EZ starts but does not working  ?  Do you see ezca.exe process in taskmanager ? Or you do - EZ-File-Exit and start EZ manually or EZ does not start with P3D automatically ?

yakatan

Focus on P3d. Press SHIF+D. Do you see EZCA ? Any EZ icons in the system tray ?

Problem is not the dll.xml, but actually the admin rights for the P3d. Now it works!

I'm glad it works, but the above correction should be made to the exe.xml file. If/when you have a dll.xml file in your roaming folder, it would contain the <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> entry.

But, it's up to you. Smile

I had a further look at the exe.xml file content issue - if it already exists, the config tool just adds the appropriate EZCA entries. However, if the exe.xml file doesn't exist, the config tool creates it but erroneously uses the <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> entry. You can see this by looking at the config.exe file in an editor.

Nick/Marniftarr, this should be a simple fix. Not sure if it might cause issues in the future.

Randy

Edit: the correct format can be seen in the ProgramData/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3D v5 folder.

Thanks a lot guys.  I've been using EZCA since it first came out.  This version is working great so far in my P3Dv5.  Have had no hiccups so far.  It installed with no problems.  Didn't have to edit anything.  I've never used all functions in the previous versions, but am going to start experimenting with them.

Again, thanks for a great product.

 It doesn't matter which string is written. dll.xml or exe.xml.
All add-ons will be launched anyway.
