    Posted: March-04-2017 at 2:31pm
Hi,
I have just purchased/installed FSIPanel in a host client set up. When I run the FSIPanel.exe on the client machine I get the following error: see screenshots
https://www.flickr.com/photos/141330124@N05/shares/q3424o
The first is a "could not load file FSUIPCClient, Version=........" and if I click on continue I get the second "error" FSiPanel Version Please wait, checking for updates
I guess I need help figuring out what's going on.
Thanks for assistance

Hi,

It looks like you didn't install FSiPanel on your client computer, you just copied fsipanel.exe, it can't work.

What you need to do is:

- on your server computer where you installed FSiPanel, you should have a directory c:\FSiPanel.com
- in this directory, you will have your license file and a file named SetupFSiPanel.exe.
- copy this file (SetupFSiPanel.exe) to your client computer and run it.
- FSiPanel will then be installed and when prompted, select CLIENT.

Cheers,

J-P

Hi J-P,
I located the file - was in location C:\Program Files (x86), relocated it to C:\FSiPanel.com.
That all worked, however I still get a notification that "FSiPanel Server DISCONNECTED" as well as on top of the main FSiPanel screen I have the message "FSiPanel 1.0.0.82 Server Mode NOT CONNECTED" (see screenshots). The server & client are set up for the same server port as well as IP address (see screenshot). When I perform a test from the troubleshooting page I get an error (see screenshot).

Hi Juergen,

it looks like you didn't install SimConnect on your FSX Steam edition.
Do you have FSUIPC installed on the server side ?

For the server/client connection, you need to go on the SERVER side, Setup and then you will see the server IP, this is the IP address that you should set in your CLIENT computer.

Let's start by fixing your SimConnect issue, you can download the little tool below to check your installation:

Download link:

Unzip these 3 files in your FSiPanel server directory and start the SimConnectDebugger, then select your Sim (FSX Steam), you should then see 3 SimConnect Clients installed, if this is not the case, click on the button Install SimConnect and you will installed all the necessary files.

Cheers,

J-P

J-P,
I think got both PC's to show "CONNECTED" after I rebooted. I can NOT extract the simconnectdebugger into the FSiPanel directory; "creating directory error" - see screenshot". However, since I run other programs via simconnect, I believe it is installed correctly (also both machines show CONNECTED).
However, I now have the problem withe the client, that it shows the message"Please Wait, getting configuration from server. Or select a quick position on the screen" (see screenshot). I can not do anything on either machine.

Good, did you import an aircraft on the server side ?
Try to fly an approach only using your server, you can click on FSiPanel ICON in the task bar to bring it to view and you can select an approach from there without using the client,

Can you fly it? I think we still have the simconnect issue..

J-P,
I have imported a aircraft and can select an airport, runway, load and fly the approach.
So I tried the same on the client PC and the following occured:
a) opened FSiPanel
b) updated airport data base
c) Client Mode: CONNECTED
But I can NOT select an airport (no active blue frame around "Select Apt"). The server Panel has the active blue frame around "select Apt".
Thanks for help (particular on a Sunday)

Hi Juergen,

Did you select the aircraft to fly on the client PC??
Above the button "Select APT", you should have a text saying no aircraft selected.

Click on this text and select your PMDG 737, then you should be able to create your approach.

Let me know,

Cheers,

J-P

Hi J-P,
Sorry another problem came up:
I loaded a PMGD B738 -No problem; loaded a PMDG 777 - No problem;
tried to load the PMDG B747 QOTSII and received an FSiPanel error message: Error importing your aircraft: illegal characters in path.
Path to PMDG747Q2 panelstate:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\PMDG\PMDG 747 QOTS II\PanelState
I assume the error points to this path (copy/paste from setup menue)
Thanks again

Do you have FSiPanel 1.0.0.82 on Server and Client computers?
Which livery did you try to import?

Ok, I guess it helps to read.
It is the B747-400 V3 United Airlines (N127UA / 2017). I guess that means version 3.

I've just tried to import the United N127UA without any issue.
Could you please try again?
The error comes after you confirmed that FSX is running and views set?

J-P,
The error occurs after I confirmed that FSX is running and views set. Then after approx. 8-10 seconds the error is displayed.
I tried it again same result. I rebooted the machine, started FSX, loaded the N127UA, selected KTPA active runway, nice weather and daytime 12:00. After that i loaded FSiPanel and tried to install that aircraft. Confirmed that FSX is running and views are set; after approx. 8-10 seconds the error is displayed.

Thanks for the information, I need to investigate.
Could you do it again and just after the error, close FSiPanel and send me the following files to support email:
- log.txt
- config.txt
- aircraft.xml

I will then try to figure out what the problem could be.

Thanks,

J-P

Hi,

Please do the following:
- Disable antivirus
- Download the file below.
- PUT THIS FILE IN FSiPanel DIRECTORY
- Launch the program (FSIPanel82hotfix1.exe)

FSiPanel will be updated to Hotfix 1, you can see that when starting FSiPanel, it should show FSiPanel 1.0.0.82 hotfix rev1

Please try to import your 747, same error illegar char?

Cheers,

J-P

Hi J-P,
Now my system tells me "I don't have permission to save to the FSIPanel folder". I am the administrator.
So I saved it in a temp directory, cut and paste to the FSIPanel directory. I run the hotfix file and nothing seems to happen. I start FSIPanel and the same version number is displayed, no hotfix.
I try to load the B747 UA and the same "characters in path" is displayed. So I would assume the hotfix did not load.
Any idea how to solve the permission problem?
Thanks

OK. I solved the permission problem.
However, after I run the hotfix, there is no change in version number of FSIPanel, so subsequently the error is still there.
Thanks

Did you run the software in FSiPanel directory where FSiPanel.exe is located?

What is the date of your file FSiPanel.exe?

Yes the hotfix file is located in: c:\Program Files (x86)\FSIPanel
Strange, but the date modified for FSIPanel.exe is: 3/6/2017 7:20PM.
My local time here is 5:45PM.

J-P,
I just thought I load the PMDG B747-400 House (N744GE / 2017), and it loaded w/o a problem.
Strange
