ERROR CODE 37 - WHAT DOES IT MEAN

FIRST AND FOREMOST:

IF you are running FSX-SE and have installed their BETA then the issue is FSX-SE. You must opt-out of the STEAM FSX BETA first, then the GEX interface will run and you can install your regions/options. Once your GEX interface displays "ENABLED IN FSX" for your installed products, then if you wish you can re-op into their BETA. GEX will display and work fine without any other interface action.

See this thread for more info

IF the above is not the issue, then continue below:

Error code 37 means quite simply that there are default core files missing in your Flight Simulator installation.

This issue can be different for different reasons and vary in specifics from system to system.

If you are seeing ERROR CODE 37 - INTERFACE WILL CLOSE  in most cases we can track down the missing files and get them restored. There are very rare cases where some addon has completely trashed a sim install be it from a badly made uninstaller or some kind of optimizing tool that should never have been run to begin with.

If you are seeing ERROR 37 please do the following:

1. Download this program: http://gex.flight1.net/forumimages/DirectoryLister19.zip

Its in ZIP format, you need to unzip it and place the file DirectoryLister19.exe on your desktop.

It comes with a JPG image: INSTRUCTIONS.jpg

2. Open INSTRUCTIONS.jpg and look at it carefully, then launch DirectoryLister19.exe and set it up exactly as that image shows with the check boxes and pointed the tool to your main Flight-Sim install directory. Once you have made the correct sections click the "List Directory Structure" button.

Make sure to do as it shows in that image..  then it will save a file to the desktop named: results.txt when finished

NOTE: It may take a minute or so to create the file, just be patient and the program will tell you when its finished

3. Zip the created file Results.txt and create a new forum topic requesting support for ERROR 37 in this forum.

You can either:

A. Upload the zip file to a server and link it in your post requesting assistance

or

B. Request assistance to email the file to a address and we will message you with the email address to send the zip file

I will get it and check your FSX install and see what files are missing then we can go from there.

As mentioned, there is a 98% success rate at fixing this issue without any reinstalls however in some rare cases where the install is damaged too much a reinstall of FSX may be required.
