I tried calling up the minipanel.cfg file from the gauges folder to edit, however I got an error message saying that basically FSPanel Studio isn't able to edit the minipanel. I should tell you that the minipanel I want to edit is a current replacement available via flightsim.com and contains a lot more in the way of nav aids, etc than the very basic default minipanel we all recognize.
So having said that, why am I not able to load the new minipanel using the direct loading of the cfg file? |

Greetings,
FS9 or FSX?
Please provide a link to the particular file, I'll give it a try.

The file name is fsx_minipanel.zip and can be downloaded from flightsim.com. It also requires two other gauges that are part of the panel. . .one is cpitcmdr.zip also on flightsim.com, however the second gauge seems to have been pulled for some reason and I'm trying to locate the author to find out what happened to it, so for now the above downloads will suffice.
![]() ![]() These are the two error messages I get. . .the bottom one comes up first and then when I click "ok" the top one displays. Thanks for looking into it for me. |

The error message means exactly what it says, editing the minipanel.cfg file is not supported.

Ok, I won't ask the obvious question. . .however. . .if I create a new panel, load each of the gauges incorporated into the minipanel back into the new panel and arrange them the way I wanted to to begin with and then save as minipanel. . .will that work?

The global minipanel is in a similar, but not identical format to panel.cfg files. FSPS won't read them or save them.
If you create a Window in FSPS, it would be possible to cut and paste the resulting window entry into the minipanel.cfg file, as long as you're careful about recreating all of the [minipanel] entries. Unfortunately, the format is not documented by Microsoft. |

That just sounds like trouble waiting to happen. I could though simply create a minipanel of sorts with the gauges I wanted and use it as a pop-up. That would probably be the easiest.
