Can't get GPS to show

   I've been having a nasty time of getting a GPS window to show when clicking on GPS icons.  I have the idents matching the default position is inside the FS9 window. I've copied & pasted from other aircraft configs, made the windows from scratch, used GPS guages I don't like and nothing seems to work.
For example I can use a Simicons GPS icon on the main panel with an ident of 225, create a window using the default FS9 GPS 500 with correct sizing... 456x378 and an ident of 225.
Start FS9, click on the GPS icon and sometimes the hourglass comes on for a second and then nothing. Other times it just goes to an empty window the same as when you press SHIFT 1 on most aircraft.
I don't have trouble with any other pop-up windows, only the GPS's :(
I've done some searches but no one else seems to have the problem  :(
I'm using build 18222 on a Windoze XP SP2.
