Hi. First THANK YOU. I am looking forward to this release. Question? How does autogen work with USA roads? I used AFAD to make roads into my airports, however autogen always puts tree's and buildings on them. I also love to make search and rescue scenes (EMTs favorite hobby)with fs9 and have made some roads for accidents scene's. Its difficult landing the helicopter when autogen puts tree's on the road you just made. Do you have any of these problems? |

If you used AFCAD to create the roads, then those are probably not roads. Instead they are probably detailed ground polygons made to look like roads (if I remember correctly). The USA Roads are drawn the same way as the default FS2004 roads. FS2004 will place autogen around these types of roads, not on them. One thing you should know, is that roads in FS2004 are not as detailed as some ground polygons. That means the road will become blurry if you try and land on it. Still, you can land on it without worrying about autogen issues. There is nothing we can do about increasing the road clarity up close. On the other hand, if Microsoft made very detailed road polygons, then even the fastest system would be brought crawling to its knees.

Thats okay about the texture. I was able to use AFCAD to put clear road texture over exsiting fs9 roads. It make for some great accident scenes. I was just having problems with making new roads. As long as autogen goes around the USA Roads I will have a lot of rescue mission with the chopers. What make this even more exciting is that I can use actual street maps to place and find my scenes. Once again THANK YOU. |
