When I attempt to install GEP3D ground environment I end up with an error message?

GEP3D Error

Can not locate the Prepar3D directory, Click OK to browse to the location of P3D

When I attempt to direct search to the Prepar3Dv5Files  it does not accept location and reverts back to initial search window?

The manual states:

If the interface can not locate the installation automatically, and browsing it to the correct location of Prepar3D.exe does not work, please make sure the Prepar3D install directory does not have a "hidden' attribute associated with it. Right click the Prepar3D install directory, select 'Properties' on the 'General' tab at the bottom if the attribute for "Hidden' is checked or enabled, disable it and then apply the changes to the folder and all subfolders and files. If the interface still fails to locate the install directory, contact support for assistance.

The Prepar3D directory does not have a “hidden” attribute in properties, so I am stuck unable to install.

Please someone help,

I am not seeing this issue with with P3Dv5.0

Just to be sure I have deleted the configuration file and rerun the interface to duplicate your conditions. I browse the box to the Prepar3D v5.0 install directory where the file Prepar3d.exe is located and the interface automatically recognizes, opens and runs.

Are you sure you are browsing the interface to the correct Prepar3D v5.0 install directory?

Please check the location you are browsing the interface to manually in Windows and verify it is correct and the file Prepar3D.exe is located there.

I am directing the search to where the setup Prepar3D file is>

Downloads\Prepar3D_v5_Academic_5.0.31.35253\Prepar3D_v5_Academic_5.0.31.35253

Could it be that I have a academic version?

Setup?

No academic has nothing to do with it.

I am confused..     You don't browse the interface to where INSTALLER file for P3D is located, you browse it to where Prepar3D is installed into WINDOWS directly.

You installed Prepar3D v5 into Windows correct?

What was the path you used to install that from your download folder?

Was it the default location or did you install it elsewhere?

You are not looking for the folder where P3D was downloaded from Lockheed Martin from..  you are looking for the directory Prepar3D installed to when you RAN that downloaded installer.

Understand?

When you INSTALLED P3Dv5 into Windows, if you did not browse or change the DEFAULT installation path during that process it should be located at:

C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5

That is where the GEP3D interface must be browsed to and in that directory will be: Prepar3D.exe

Some people do not use the default installation path during Prepar3D install process and change it manually during that process. If that is the case then the GEP3D interface must be browsed to the location the person changed when installing Prepar3D.
