Updated the software in line with the latest MS and Asobo updates. Previous versions would not be able to locate the installed aircraft types as the install paths had been changed by Asobo.

Modified the GRIB download procedure in FSX mode to overcome problem accessing the GRIB server (security issues) with the older .NET Framework 2.0 software. The program NOAA_QUERY.EXE will also need to be allowed through the Firewall as it is this program that downloads the actual GRIB data file.

Modified the NOAA_QUERY.EXE software to monitor the GRIB download and generate a NOAA_QUERY.log report file. The report file logs the outcome of the GRIB data download process within the NOAA_QUERY program along with any reported errors.

Modified the OpusMSFS Client so that it connects to the server via a single Position Update LAN link. Intended to be more efficient when connected to an OpusFSI v5 or v6 server.

This update is for people using FSX or P3D as their main 'flying' server and want to use an MSFS (FS2020) OpusMSFS Client to provide their scenic 'out of cockpit' views. All non-scenery and non-weather options (including all damage and failure options) in MSFS should be turned off or set to a minimum, the simple Legacy FSX flight model should also be selected along with a 'simple' (cold and dark) aircraft (such as the simple MSFS Glider).

OpusFSI v6 Historic Weather Update

I am preparing a new beta with an improved Historic Weather option. The new beta will access the NOAA Aviation Weather Centre’s Text Server allowing the user to specify any date and time over the previous 14 days as the reference source of their weather. The reference period will advance in line with the elapsed time during the flight.

Upgrades to the OpusFSI v6 Historic Weather

The new Historic Weather mode in the OpusFSI v6 P3DSERVER program accesses the NOAA Aviation Weather Centre’s Text Server to allow up to 14-days of histroic weather data to be accessed. This data is fully time-synchronised with the OpusFSI's GFS GRIB 'atmospheric' data to provide world-wide historic weather coverage.

The following Historic Weather Settings are now available, accessed via the OpusFSI Weather dialog,



Historic Date of Interest

Allows the local date of interest to be specified limited to any day over the past two weeks.

Local Time

Allows the local time of interest (00:00 to 23:59 Local) to be specified using two numeric up/down boxes.

Enable Historic Weather

When this checkbox option is ticked, Historic Weather mode is enabled. This checkbox mirrors the Historic Weather option displayed in the Weather dialog.

Static Historic Weather

When this checkbox option is ticked, the specified date and time of interest will remain static. When unticked, the weather update time will advance as normal after the first historic weather download and update.

Reset Historic Weather

When this checkbox option is ticked, the historic weather update time will be reset back to the specified date and time of interest.

Set System Time

Sets the local time of interest to the current system (PC) time.

Set Simulator Time

Sets the local time of interest to the current simulator (Prepar3D) time.

Modified the OPUSFSCTQ.EXE FSC Motorised Throttle Quadrant driver program to include separate ENABLED and ARMED Speed Brake calibrated positions. The separation allows for the Speed Brake lever on the TQ to be raised out of the gate on take off without registering in the ARMED position. This allows the speed brake motor to be controlled during RTO operations in the 737 without generating a 737 Config warning (due to the Speed Brakes being ARMED) during the take off roll.

Removed a conflict between the OPUSFSCTQ and PMDG 737 speed brake (spoiler) controls which was causing the MSFS code to disconnect it's SimConnect links.

Disabled all MCP/EFIS control within the FSIPMDG program. The CPFlight MCP/EFIS panel driver is inoperative at present and will remain so until tested with the latest PMDG SDK for MSFS.

The OPUSFSCTQ driver program now accepts the following program arguments,

TEST - Operates in test mode
MOTORISED - Selects the Motorised operation (default)
NONMOTORISED - Selects the Non-Motorised operation

By default the driver program powers up in the MOTORISED state.

The default FSC Trim wheel speed is now set to 7. The FSC Trim Wheel speed can be set from 2 (slow) to 12 (fast) within the FSC Digital IO Test dialog. The min, max, and default setting of 7 as indicated within the dialog.

Tweaked trim wheel sensitivity to trim adjustment settings in OPUSFSCTQ driver program, also differentiated between ground and in-flight trim wheel operation.

Removed all Test buttons on the OPUSFSCTQ main form. Added a minor version number to OPUSFSCTQ driver.

Corrected a problem downloading new release and beta versions from within the 'Check For Updates' dialog.

OPUSFSCTQ data filename automatically changed from FSCTQ.DAT to OPUSFSCTQ.DAT. Reverser control modified to take into account the sims throttle behaviour and the possible slackness in the TQ reverser levers.

Included the first beta prototype of the new OPUSCPFMCP driver program for the CPFlight 737 MCP/EFIS panels.

The OPUSFSCTQ driver program now controls the FSC TQ's backlight in sync with the PMDG 737's Pedistal Blight knob. N.B. The backlight control on the TQ is purely on/off with no brightness control.

The OPUSCPFMCP driver program's power on/off process has been disabled to prevent conflict with the light test within the aircraft which previously needed a full reconnection of the driver and at times a powered restart of the MCP/EFIS panels.

The OPUSFSCTQ driver program now allows the Backlight and Trim Wheel directional controls to be reversed. The reverse options can be adjusted within the Digital I/O Test dialog, default condition is false (off).
