It is bound to be asked so I may as well go first ...

If someone uses replacement night-lights (say freeware night light packages by Chris Willis or Chris Arrington) will they adhere to the new road structure ?
Chris Arrington's night lights which are truly superb give you this very nice concentration of lights around major city intersections and they also follow streets (those yellowish sodium lights) in the populated areas.

Michael,

USA Roads includes it's own set of night textures.   Hopefully you will like them.    I think it is a big improvement over the default textures.

I am not familiar with Chris's latest release, although I am sure it is fabulous (all his work is).   If you really wanted to, you could copy the night textures from Chris over the USA Roads textures and they should work.

There are about 6 different night textures in USA roads, for the different types of roads.

Some of the textures have street lights and some do not.   Can you guess why ?

As you move away from the cities, the street lights taper off.   At that point, only a few headlights and tailights may appear on the road.    I was very proud of this little enhancement.  This feature was requested by some pilot friends of mine.  They reminded me that you do not typically see street lights in rural areas.

If someone really wanted street lights on every road, this could probably be done also by renaming some of the texture files.  In fact, this might be something that could be added to the setup utility.

I hope to have some night shots up soon.

BTW....It is a good question.

Allen

Thanks for quick answer (I was actually refering to Chris Arrington). I am definitely looking forward to your night lights shots. I do most of my flying at night (real and simulated !) so night time scenery is of paramount importance to me. You can call me night-lights connoisseur
