Just down loaded FEX-2.EXE and FEX_2.03 Up date. Basic understanding not Techy Tech need some information please prior to installing.

From my interpretation you have to have NetFrame work 2.0 installed includes SP1 from Microsoft. Down loaded it saved to my desk top not installed. I do not want to over write NetFramne Work 4.5.1 and SP1 Up Date.

Full retail version including SP1

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit Control Panel/Programs & Features

Showing Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5.1

Is this a up date from NetFrame work 2.0?

when I look at Up date/History "does not" list NetFrame Work 2.0

Do I still need to install NETFrame Work 2.0 for FEX?

SP1 and SP2 has been installed from up dates how ever SP1 and SP2 is not listed under Control/Panel Programs.

MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430
MSXML 4.0 SP2 KB93688
MSXML 4.0 SP2 Parser and SDK
MSXML SP2 Parser and SDK

If I install 2.0 Net Frame Work will it over write NetFrame Work 4.5.1 and the SP up dates?

Maybe you already figured this out, but Net Framework 2.0 is included with Windows 7.

So you do not need to install it if you are running Windows 7 and you have completed updated Windows 7.

I can not say for sure, but it should be included in Windows 8.

You should be able to see it in the list of installed programs which you use to uninstall programming.

strange I checked Start/Control PANEL/Programs/net Frame Work 2.0 Is not listed.

Net Frame Work 4.5.1 is listed. SP1 and 2 is listed.

all up windows required up dates are installed.

Should I install Net Frame Work 2.0?

I find framework 4.5.1 listed as do you but not 2.0  If you go ahead and install FEX I'm betting it will ask you to install 2.0 if it needs it.  However, let me point out clearly, you may want to wait for an answer from someone who knows those things more definitively than I.

I do have FEX installed and running, FWIW.

Like I told you, it is already installed by Windows 7 so you already have it.

NOTE - this blog post was originally written for the .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0 on Windows Vista.  Since then, Windows 7 has shipped, and it includes the .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 as OS components.

You will not see it listed in "Programs" because it is not a separate installed program, it is part of Windows 7.
