    Posted: June-05-2015 at 7:20pm
Hi,

Just purchased and installed FSiPanel. Admin rights enabled, no UAC, anti-virus off and FSiPanel folder added as exception.

Registered, installed Standalone mode for P3Dv2 (v2.4)

When I click 'Update DB' MakeRwys executes and I can see the scenery files being processed in the dialog window. At the end the dialog window closes, there is a delay of a few seconds and an error dialog is presented stating "Error, MakeRwys xml file not created"

I am using the latest version of FSiPanel (1.0.0.72) and the latest FSUIPC version 4.4939 (unregistered). Operating system in Windows 7 64bit. FSiPanel is running as administrator.

Test output:
FSiPanel has administrator right
P3D has administrator right
FSUIPC FREE Version, A320, Q400 will not work
FSUIPC Version : 4.939n
Slew Mode Activated successfully
Lat : 51.449050952918 Lon: -3.50099011769686
New Lat : 51.449050952918 Lon: -3.50099011769686
SLEW Mode is OK
Impossible to create a LUA script

Please let me know if you require any further information.

I've narrowed this down... I disabled all the add-on scenery in scenery.cfg and the database was created successfully.

Through a process of elimination it has come down to FTX Vector. With FTX Vector enabled the update fails. If I disable the _APT entry in scenery.cfg then the database creation is successful:

Hi,

Thanks for your report.

Can you have a look in your P3D directory, do you have a file named
Runways.xml?

If yes, please delete it as well as runways.txt and try again.

if you still get the error, please send me your log.txt found in FSiPanel directory at support at fsipanel.com

Thank you,

J-P

Hi J-P, thanks for your very quick response. I do however still need your support as disabling the FTX Vector entry is not really a desirable option - I want to be able use FSiPanel with FTX Vector enabled.

I removed the runways.* files from P3D folder, enabled the FTX Vector entries and ran DB update again. I received the same error. I can see that it is not fully processing all the scenery entries as it runs for considerably shorter time than when when it is working.

I will send you the log file as requested.

This is something new as I have the same issue and ORBX Vector hadn't previously been a problem.

Running makerwys directly within the FSX folder with Vector enabled the process completes without error and the runways.xml is created.

EDIT: log sent

Many thanks for the updated version J-P. Unfortunately it has not resolved the situation.

Makerwys stops processing at the same point - after Area 101 (ORBX!VECTOR_CVX). The Makerwys window then closes and no error message is displayed. The window shown below continues to be displayed...

Then, after one minute and 35 seconds of no visible activity, the error message ' Runways xml file not created' is displayed. I checked the P3D folder and no runways.xml file exists.

Hello,

It seems to be, that this is a general problem? I purchased this product today and had the same error message - in my case - FSX is installed. But like curbz - deactivating FTX VECTORS isn't a desirable solution :( ... When I downloaded the last version of Make Runways (4.679), FSIPanel overwrote this version and tried to create the Runways.xml with version 4.678, which didn't work.
J-P Garraio - please can you help me, if you have time? :) Thank You in Advance!! :) And have a nice sunday!

Best Regards

Hi,

Yes this is a big in version 72.
Solution has been found yesterday and new update is on its way.
Expect an automatic update of your software within 1 hour.

You will be prompted for the update when launching FSiPanel.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi JP

Well not much luck here. Running 1.0.0.73 and as soon as it gets to 'Vectors' it falls over
Make Runways continues OK

Hi,

Can you check in your FSX Steam edition folder that a file named runways.xml exists.
It looks like Makerwys didn't create this file.

Yes, runways.xml id there as Make runways completes OK.

Update....If I run 'build database' again once make runways has finished, then it completes OK

I am having the same problem updating the database in a Windows 7 installation. Again, it would appear that it is a component with Orbx Vector scenery, probably the APT contribution.

If I try to rerun the database, the computer suffers a blue screen dump to screen and restart. I am necessarily using the latest versions of all Orbx components and also FSiPanel itself.

Any thoughts at all, please?

The main cause of the problem appears to have been the use of Malwarebytes anti-malware software on my PC. Having stopped the Malwarebytes service, I have found that, upon the initial update of the database, the error in writing to Runways.xml appears but updating again immediately afterwards is successful. No blue screen errors are experienced now on my Windows 7 installation upon updating the database (Malwarebytes thought to be the culprit of such blue screen errors).
