When I open and save a AP file in FSX using AFX, it strips away nav data and excluds made by the developer. The only way I can modify the airport files and keep airport info is using the freeware ADE. Is there a problem with AFX.

This is currently the way AFX operates.
You can of course save the file under a different name after editing it with AFX and putting it into a higher priority layer. This way, the stuff stripped by AFX will come from the original BGL file, while your edits will come from the one you made. Exclude rectangles, VOR and NDB navaids and approaches should not be stripped however (assuming you are editing an add-on airport and not a stock one). If that happens, we must have a bug. |

Yes it's removing approaches from add on airport ADF files. I edited alot of payware addon airports with AFX and some freeware ADF's. Some it alters and some it left alone.
Making two AFD files for an airport is not a very efficent way for me to manage duplicate afcads. Bill M
