Hi, I just purchased FSIPANEL and I have problems with the setup process. Here is a copy of the report:

FSiPanel Order number : 1314262
FSiPanel has administrator right
FSX doesn't have administrator right
FSUIPC Version  FREE version
Error checking FSUIPC version
FSX Error Saving file
FSUIPC Version  FREE version
Error checking FSUIPC version

My FSUIPC is a registered version and works okay

My FSX DOES have admin rights

Any clues ?

Regards

Thank you for your quick reply.

Do you mean reinstalling simconnect ? It should be working OK because many add ons are using it, e.g. EZDOK.

Will this reinstallation alter somehow all my add-ons ?

Anyway I am not very much familiar with simconnect, could you please be more specific.

I am using FSX acceleration

Regards

Hi,
Please download the tool below, install it.
Then try to start your sim using the tool and click on test your simconnect, working??
If not, please follow the Readmefirst manual to uninstall and then re-install your Simconnect clients. It will not affect your addons.

Link : SimConnectDebugger

I ran the debugger that found two simconnect installations (instead of three).

The test of simconnect was OK but as I only found two installations of simconnect I decided to uninstall and reinstall with the debugger.

It didn't let me reinstall each package showing an error with windows installer....

So, everything seems to be screwed up...quite disappointed.

Hi Jose,

just saw that you're using the FSX with expansion pack correct?
Please do the following:

To install the SDK for FSX RTM:
FSX must not be running.
Browse the FSX Deluxe Edition disk 1
Open the SDK sub-folder
Double-click the setup.exe
Tell it where to install
Default installation location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK

Then:

FSX Acceleration Pack OR FSX Gold Pack users
To install the SDK for FSX Acceleration Pack OR FSX Gold Pack:
Insert your Acceleration Pack DVD.
Browse to the subfolder called SDK\SP1a\
Install the SDK SP1A from there using fsx_sdk_sp1a.exe
Browse to the folder called SDK\
Install the Acceleration SP2/XPack SDK using sdk.msi

This will reinstall all the correct SDK Simconnect from your own FSX disks.

Then start Simconnectdebugger and try a test, if the test is functional, DO NOT CLOSE FSX, close debugger and start FSiPanel.

Try to import your aircraft now, working?

Cheers,

J-P

Hi J-P, after doing all that and reinstalling FSiPanel I got a PASS test and could import an aircraft. Strangely the simconnect debugger kept saying that there was not simconnect installed...

Anyway, I will carry on with the program trying to use it to practice landings. At first sight the program looks a bit more complicated than I expected... If I have further questions I'll post again.

Thank you for your support.

Regards

JI

Hi J-P,
I have just reinstalled FSIP into FSX SE. I received the similar message but was unable to send the error message hence this post.

It looks very similar to Jose's problem but I am using FSX SE and I have a registered copy of the FSUIPC.
Do I need to follow the same procedure?. I thought I should check as I am using steam edition.
Everything lese has been working so far and I am puzzled why this will not work. I used FSIP on my previous install successfully.
Thank-you.

Hi Michael,
It looks like a Simconnect issue. Did you install Simconnect on your FSX SE?

Hi J-P,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I have solved the issue I had because I realised that I had opened FSI Panel then run FSX SE.
Whenb I opened the FSIP after starting the FSX SE FSIP worked fine.
I have already setup my first aircraft and done my first landing.
I am sorry to have troubled you with this.
Regards,
