Dear:

I download/purchased PC 12 from www.flight1.com on 12.01.2011.

The plane is otherwise fine except the autopilot IAS hold mode.  As I know Pilatus PC12 does not have an autothrottle system as most turboprops don't. During climb and/or descent, IAS hold when engaged, the airplane should maintain the airspeed by elevators only while the power remaining constant(either climb power or idle power).  But in flight1 PC12  power change (autothrottle?) is used to control airspeed.

Please comment.

Haseen,

This might be a limitation of flight sim itself. I have always seen autothrottle controlling airspeed in the IAS hold.

The only other option is to tweak your climb/descent rates to the airspeed you desire.

Dear Jeff:

Thanks for replying. I also use flight1 ATR72-500. It maintains IAS in IAS HOLD mode by elevators, not by autothrottle.

Ah, then I stand corrected. Wait to see if someone else chimes in here to see if it is an issue or if the logic is programmed the same as the ATR.

There is a way to overcome limitations.
I'm using CockpitStatus by Intrasystem.

The main feature of this program is the Ias-Hold function for any plane.
It is unique as it does not use Pitch/VS ecc.. and working only with engine pressure.

Maybe you resolve your problem.
