    Posted: September-09-2017 at 10:54am
Hi.Ive installed Cessna SkyCatcher 162 .After first install I did not have any problems with it and I have 30-35 FPS also with hard scenery.But suddenly a problem occurred.Now I have 8 Fps inside and outside also with FSX SE default scenery.But when I turn off battery and also Garmin panels turn off fps f jump from 8 to 40 inside and 60 outside with default scenery.When Garmin panels turn on Fps drop down to 8 constantly.I did not change any simulator settings.
Can you help me?
Thanks
Charles

There is no support for this product, but you might want to check and see if any .dll files were removed from your antivirus software. This is usually the issue with black screen issues. You also need to make sure you set up exclusions with your security software so it doesn't scan your FSX directories.

I get the same results so reading this prompted me to try an experiment.

One solution if you also have the Abacus Skycatcher is to use the PFD and MFD from that.  I tried it and there is no frame rate hit at all.  Plus the Flight1 exterior model is more accurate with the undertail strakes and the landing light on the left wing tip.

To make the modification copy "AB_G300.CAB" from SimObjects\AB_C162_Skycatcher\panel.ws\ to the SimObjects\F1_C162 Skycatcher\panel\ folder.

Then edit the "panel.cfg" file of the Flight1 Skycatcher like this:

Under [Window01]:
//gauge00=F1_G300!G300 PFD,  0,0,785,1027,POPUP
gauge00=AB_G300!AB_G300_PFD_FSX,  163,435,465,595

Under [Window02]:
//gauge00=F1_G300!G300 MFD,  0,0,785,1027,POPUP
gauge00=AB_G300!AB_G300_MFD,  1205,435,465,595

Under [Vcockpit01]:
//gauge00=F1_G300!G300 PFD,  0,0,785,1027,MAIN
//gauge01=F1_G300!G300 MFD,  1263,0,785,1027,MAIN
gauge00=AB_G300!AB_G300_PFD_FSX,  0,0,785,1027,MAIN
gauge01=AB_G300!AB_G300_MFD,  1263,0,785,1027,MAIN

The Abacus model has a DigiFlight II autopilot in the spot on the left where the Flight1 model has a blank plug.  Haven't tried to bring that over yet.  Some functionality of buttons on the MFD and PFD isn't there so might sort that out as will.  It also has a 2D panel that might be useful.  And I get a map view on the MFD right away.

The panel of the Abacus model is the strong visual part of the model.  The rest is very FS2004-ish.  It goes on sale once in a while (got mine for under $10 using a coupon code) so blending it with the far superior cockpit and exterior model of the Flight1 release (and you can't beat the current price) is a good choice.  Otherwise I was going to uninstall the superior but frame rate killer Flight1 model.

This will get you started and back in the air.  Anyone feel free to take it from here and enhance or regain functionality.  If you know how, maybe even go into the Flight1 G300 code and see what the heck line(s) of code in there is sucking up all the clock cycles. ;-)

AB in F1

Hope this helps.

Some follow-on.    This will add the 2D panel from the Abacus version to the Flight1 model.

1) Copy "C162_SkyCatcher_WS_Panel.bmp" from SimObjects\AB_C162_Skycatcher\panel.ws\ to the SimObjects\F1_C162 Skycatcher\panel folder.

2) Copy the "SimObjects\AB_C162_Skycatcher\panel.ws\AB_Icons2" folder to the SimObjects\F1_C162 Skycatcher\panel folder.

3) Then edit the "panel.cfg" file of the Flight1 Skycatcher like this (this is in addition to what was done in the post above):

Comment out the existing [Window00] section in the Flight1 panel.cfg file by changing [Window00] to [Windowxx]

Copy the entire [Window00] from the Abacus panel.cfg file (below) and past it below the original [Window00] section (now renamed [Windowxx]) of the Flight1 panel.cfg file.
//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window00]
file=C162_SkyCatcher_WS_Panel.bmp
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=1680,1050
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=7
visible=1
ident=0
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
window_pos= 0.000, 0.000

gauge00=AB_G300!AB_G300_PFD_FSX,  163,435,465,595
gauge01=AB_G300!ES_GTX330,  677,909,482,128
gauge02=AB_G300!SL30_1,  677,804,482,100
gauge03=AB_G300!AB_G300_MFD,  1205,435,465,595
gauge04=AB_G300!AB_C162_Electrical,  672,438,489,362
gauge05=AB_G300!C162_SkyPilot,  1,477,121,328
gauge06=AB_G300!C162_ignition,  0,875,134,134
gauge07=SimIcons1024!Kneeboard Icon,  806,382,22,22
gauge08=SimIcons1024!Map Icon,  828,382,22,22
gauge09=SimIcons1024!ATC Icon,  850,382,22,22
gauge10=SimIcons1024!ECU Icon,  828,404,22,22
gauge11=AB_Icons2!AB_L_PFD,  806,404,22,22
gauge12=AB_Icons2!AB_R_MFD,  850,404,22,22

You'll notice that there are some SimIcons located in the top center of the 2D panel.  Two of them will make the PFD and MFD appear as popups.  But to make it work you will need to edit the Ident value of both in the Flight1 panel.cfg file.

Under [Window01] make this change:
ident=39 //1000

Under [Window02] make this change:
ident=36 //2000

That's it.  Now you'll have a 2D panel in the view cycle and you'll also gain the use of the DigiFlight II autopilot.  You can at least program the autopilot in 2D mode and enjoy the results in 3D.

By the way, I've been reading other posts about the Flight1 Skycatcher not working in Win8 or FSX-SE.  That is exactly what I'm running it in -- FSX-SE on Win 8.1.  Aside from the frame rate killing PFD/MFD issue -- fixed for me now -- it works perfectly.
