Airliner XP: The Airbus you are waiting for!

January 28, 2007 - The Internationally-based development studio, Airliner XP, is announcing the most unique Airbus Simulation Experience for both FS9 and FSX.

"With today's announcement of our Airbus Simulation, we are officially ushering in a new era in true next-generation simulation and entertainment for everyone" said Jean-Luc Dupiot, co-founder of Airliner XP. "The innovative Airbus Simulation product features powerful technologies and capabilities that have never been brought together in one simulation title. The results are breathtaking new interactive simulation to explore, eye-popping multimedia functionality, and a fully integrated experience -- all in high- definition clarity. The value we are providing consumers with our Airbus Simulation is beyond compare."

What happens when the three most renowned companies in the Flight Simulator market get together is nothing short of a revolution: award winning DreamFleet, FlightScenery and Reality XP join forces to release a revolutionary product:

Airliner XP’s Airbus Simulation features an entirely new 2D and 3D graphic engine for Flight Simulator with ultra high-res panels in 32 bits next-gen graphics and with higher frame rates. In addition, professional-grade 3D modeling with an extraordinary level of detail and cutting edge animations with visual special effects and virtually no-FPS hit. For the first time, studio-quality recorded sound and innovative 7.1 3D-sound mixer for FS9/X, faster than Direct X for increased frame rates. Overall, the Airliner XP’s Airbus features industry-leading game development combined with aviation training best practices for the highest level of aircraft systems simulation fidelity and avionics fluidity ever offered on a desktop PC.

DreamFleet’s Lou Betti is a professional photographer and 2D artwork artist. He has been demonstrating a unique talent in designing aircraft and gauges bitmaps for award winning titles like the Boeing 737, the ATR 72, the Beech A36, the Beech B58 and the Piper Archer.

FlightScenery’s Stéphane Lepage is a professional 3D artist and industrial designer. He has been demonstrating leading Flight Simulator modeling techniques for life-like rendition of sceneries and highly detailed 3D objects with virtually no FPS hit with award winning titles like FlightZone01: Rhode Island and FlightZone02: Portland.

Reality XP’s Jean-Luc Dupiot is a professional developer. He has been leading the Flight Simulator gauge development in being the first to introduce fluid and low FPS hit anti-aliased EFIS technologies, accurate and full featured avionics simulations and non-yet-matched unique products like the Weather Radar simulation and the TAWS – EGPWS.

Airliner XP’s A320 Airbus which has been under development for 3 years will be released for FS9 first and FSX later.

Airliner XP's management and staff includes producers, artists, designers, and developers with experience from leading publishers and titles in the industry including DreamFleet, FlightScenery and Reality XP.

Airliner XP can be found on the world wide web at: www.airliner-xp.com

Hello,

I have a big problem: I can't load the airlinerxp.com homepage Unhappy

For many people in Germany the site is not accessible - we get a time out error.

As the new AirlinerXP A320 seems to be such an amazing add-on, it is very sad that I can't access the homepage and the forum...

Hopefully someone has an idea how to solve this problem!Smile

Greetings

Tim

Hi Tim,

it is under investigation by the ISP.

Maybe you could help us better: can you post here a traceroute from your location to www.airliner-xp.com to see where it blocks?

Have you also tried www.airlinerxp.com or www.airlinersim.com ?

Hi Tim,

it seems it is working from the german website, but not from your ISP. It is under investigation with the web hosting company that is asking: what is your ISP? (as much contact information as possible please for me to relay this to them).

Thanks Tim,

it seems some are still not able to access the website though. In this case, I'd need to know if they can access www.canadawebhosting.com

Can you help us out with this?

Hi,

thank you for the detailed traceroute! We are further trying to solve this particular issue (which seems to affect routing from Germany).

Can you connect to this other site alright?

That trace route information needs to be removed immediately!

Please, folks!  Be very careful with that data.  That's precisely the stuff that hackers love to see because with it, they can do all sorts of bad things to your online computers.

It seems that the German internet backbone of Deutsche Telekom AG (DTAG) is having difficulties accessing the airliner-xp site addresses. 1&1 also uses the same infrastructure... I can access the sites from work nearly all the time, though the internet connection there is via the German Research Network DFN, and goes through New York if I remember correctly...

Is there any way of checking out if airliner-xp's host is blocking connections sporadically from DTAG? I have been able to access it from home from time to time before now, but tonight I cannot access at all...

This is a long standing problem... Given that you will be using the Flight1 wrapper, at least the process of purchasing will probably be free of difficulties... :) though downloading the original install file could prove interesting... Wink

Hello,
Is the AirlinerXP Airbus A320 still something that is happening?  I haven't heard anything about it for a long time and was wondering if the project was just shelved.

I was quite excited about this project when I first heard about it.  It would be a disappointment if it was scrapped.

Hi,

the project is still alive, just quieter. The forum is an issue: our ISP changed servers, and since that moment, we are struggling to find a way to reenable the forum without loosing all the posts database (which is the sole option the ISP is more or less offering).

So it takes time, and we are sorry for this.

Hello Jean-Luc,
I'm really glad to hear that you are continuing with this project.
I know that although AirlinerXP may have taken a lower profile, there are many sim enthusiast (like me) that are on the edge of their seats (and wallets) waiting for the release of the AirbusXP A320.
This one has always seemed to me to be the most promising A320 project because of the great team that has come together on it.
It really surprised me when I seen the forums had been locked up.  I didn't check on it every week because it was like watching water boil, but I probably looked in once or twice a month for updates.
I have a lot of confidence that when this Airbus is finished, it will be outstanding and I hope you will return to giving regular updates on its progress.
Instead of re-enabling the old forum, just give a link to the old posts.  An old post can always be copy/pasted if someone wants to continue a thread in a new forum.
Thanks for the update,
Bob

Jean Luc,

I think there s no reason for such foggy answers - it s obvious that forum is closed because it has no purpose and that all posts in the last few months while it has been active were simply not constructive anymore. Finally, forum itself has zero importance in this sad story.

While I would be really happy to know that project may continue at some point(actually this would be the top news in FS world), from outside perspective it looks that there are serious issues between the team members and that some (key players) are not willing to continue working on the project. For that reason, project is stuck.

Must say, pitty, as AXP was by far the most promissing and in my opinion far better than ASimmer. Looking now, AXP Project reminds me on "supergroups" in which you can have the best individuals on the planet, but as a team they re horrible and useless.

What you guys need is an investor and manager which is not affiliated to any of your companies - one which would coordinate project and keep your work obligations within the frame till the final result is reached.

Best regards and good luck with all upcoming projects from your "factory".

Tom

Hi Jean Luc
Hope you are well…  I don't know if you can tell us this but do you hope to release the AXP320 this year?  If not, could you assure us that you guys are still actively working on the code?
Waiting patiently for your masterpiece!

I have a feeling that this project has been shelved for the time being and they are focusing more on their native projects like RealityXP guages, Dreamfleet turbo Dakota FSX, etc.
I really think that since this was an FS9 project to start with, it would be pointless to complete it any further than this year.
FS11 will be coming out eventually and FS9, although it will still be used by many (including me), will become a dinosaur.

www.airlinerxp.com still works, it appears the forum is also hosted on this domain and still works (although you cannot post.)

I remember Lou saying that it had been 3 years in the making, I can't see this project being thrown away all together.

Seems we are having a hard time with our ISP. Is www.airlinerxp.com working though?

Hi Jean-Luc, www.airlinerxp.com works fine.  Do you know when we will be able to post there again?

Also, can you tell us when you anticipate the Airbus project will ramp back up?

thanks!
