 great shots!  Big smile

Just a FYI    if you are using the ENB bloom mod, it really does not work that well in the dryer regions of the planet because the FSX render engine does not take into account the far brighter and more intense sunlight that appears in these location.   The ENB mod will overdarken the tiles in these locations because they are made to reflect light correctly and they are sensitive to lighting changes.  They will darken far more than they should with ENB enabled so you may need to adjust

[COLORCORRECTION]
DarkeningAmountDay=xx

to a far lower number than you would use elsewhere in the world, or not use the bloom mod at all in the desert and drier/brighter regions

the issue is the FSX render engine does not understand 'brighter tropics' and Aces tried to hide that with completely washed out and over-brightened desert, savanna and mid east texture sets.

You can also adjust the monitor brightness control a bit in the driver to compensate for the FSX lighting too    its really a balancing act between ENB and driver control brightness that can be tricky to get right.

It would have been great if FSX understood 'brighter sun'   but it doesn't   just like it does not understand 'dark night'   Big smile

Those shots are absolutely stunning, it really is an art class of its own to take quality screenshots.

Yeah, guys, I was born in Africa, Zaire then lived near Lagos in Nigeria, because my dad was an ex-pat for Phillips Medical Systems and moved back to Holland permanently when i was around 8, so my recollection is a bit hazy and although I have never been to Ethiopia I have tried my best to get it to look as real as possible. I could not have succeeded without Nick though, he brings the color, lumination and detail of the textures to this quality and liveliness, I just make the basic design....

A few more from me:

Cairo, the Nile and Giza area:

Over the jungles of Congo:

Dubai UAE:

I followed Nick's advice and disabled the ENB mod as it darkened the shots too much. All these are morning or early morning shots with the sun relatively low. The textures are indeed light sensitive.

Default landclass is used as I do not have any landclass addon for Africa,

I must say I now have a whole new continent and a half to explore as it looks so much better. I wish I could have better coastlines for all the shores and lakes of Africa and ME. I got used to the UTX ones for Europe and NA and those straight blunt lines of default FSX look very unrealistic.

Is there away to disable the FSX roads and railroads when flying over cities?

Having that ability is a side-effect to UTX. Since UTX overrides the default roads, turning the UTX roads off in the scenery library disables all roads at once.

Without the UTX override getting rid of roads would be a a matter of locating and removing files manually

I probably should have added in that will only remove the roads in a UTX area, not outside

I was trying to convey on one cup of coffee,..  LOL  without UTX coverage for the AFME area removing the roads is a manual task

So the roads stay. Do you know of any other vector enhancements for AFME? I am mostly annoyed by the shorelines that are very blunt.

Unfortunately no..   unless someone has developed freeware/payware for the area I am not aware of. There is nothing that covers the entire region like UTX, that I know. What may be available would be spot locations.

I thought I would compare my view of Cairo using ST Landclass with the shots posted above and I appear to have a problem with some textures/autogen. The buildings are very different to the ones shown in the post above and the tiles seem to be very random. Any ideas what would have caused this?
I have GEX USA, Europe and AFME installed, all current versions, and no error messages on install.

Any help appreciated.

I can confirm the broken line you are seeing as shown in the image above..  its cause by SceneryTech Africa LC not GEX

The images posted above by Dimus are running the default landclass

If you disable SceneryTech Africa you will see images similar to the ones above

None of the landclasses are perfect and there can be spots where errors such as that mis-match texture line can appear in any of them.
