Flying an approach

My Aircraft is rotating and is unable to stabilize.

This is a problem when you are in SLEW mode, FSiPanel needs to use the slew mode to position the aircraft correctly, if your controllers (joysticks) are not perfectly trimmed, they may interfere with the process.

The best thing to do is the remove all assigned SLEW mode from your joystick axis, your problem will be solved.

FSX Options / Settings / Controls / Control Axes
Flight Mode Slew
Controller type, check one after the other and delete ALL axis assignment to slew functions.
Please do the same with FSUIPC.

Click on the link below to see a video showing you hot do remove axis assignments.
Slew Assignments

My FMS is not set to the current airport / runway.

FSiPanel does NOT program your FMS for an approach, only for a traffic pattern by importing the route FSIPANEL01 in the route page.

The ILS course is not correct

FSiPanel uses your BGL files to create its airports database, this is to make sure that the frequencies and courses match the ones used by FSX.
If you take the last Jeppesen revision, it might be that a new frequency is in the air as well as an updated ILS course, however, if you set these new values to FSX, you will not get a signal.
If you install an updated scenery which includes the new information, rebuild your database by going to SETUP, OPTIONS, Update DB and FSiPanel will update its database with the new values.

My aircraft was positioned correctly but too close from the terrain.

FSiPanel does NOT look at the terrain clearance when positioning your aircraft, this is your responsibility as a pilot.
You can change all the default altitudes by clicking on the value to meet the terrain clearance requirement

Problem Updating FSiPanel

You get the message to check your internet connection

If you haven’t used FsiPanel for a while, some internet paramaters have changed and therefore older versions can’t access the server anymore.

If your software version is 1.0.0.74 or below, you need to update manually by downloading a quick tool.

Run the tool, choose a temporary directory, if FSiPanel is found on your computer, you just need to click update to get the last version, if not found, please locate manually FSiPanel.exe when prompted to do so.

Prepar3D V3 PMDG Click Spots not working

When the aircraft is loaded, several click spots are not working

Prepar3D V3 doesn’t load the aircraft the same way as version V2, in some case, when ready to fly your approach, you find out that you can’t use your FMS, can’t arm approach, etc.

A work around solution consists in launching P3D with the intended aircraft on ground and then program your approach using FSiPanel.

To summarize: (Ex. PMDG 777)

-      Start P3D

-      Select the 777, any airport, on ground.

-      Wait until all systems are initialized (around 20sec)

-      Start FSiPanel and fly your approaches.

You can’t import an aircraft

When clicking on import AC, nothing happens.

FSiPanel needs FSUIPC and SimConnect to work properly, FSX or P3D MUST as well be started with administrator rights.

To have a quick view on where the problem lies:

-      Start FSX or P3D

-      Select any aircraft on ground.

-      In FSiPanel, go to Setup, Troubleshooting and click Launch tests button.

FSiPanel will then check administrator rights for itself and the simulator, it will check your FSUIPC version, check that you don’t have a slew axis problem, etc.

Once the report is finished, if you can’t fix the issue by yourself, please create a post on the forum and copy/paste your report.

WARNING; Updating your favorite aircraft

After updating my aircraft to latest release, FSiPanel doesn’t work anymore.

FSiPanel works with the latest version of the supported aircraft, however, when a new release is published, FSiPanel might be not compatible until a new version is released.

Therefore if you really want to fly approaches every day, wait until FSiPanel has been updated before installing your favorite aircraft update.

PLEASE check that a post concerning the addon update is open on the forum, if not, please do so as I might be not aware of the update.

Uninstalling or Re-installing FSiPanel

I would like to completely remove FSiPanel from my computer.

-      Go to your control panel, manage programs, uninstall FSiPanel.

-      Delete FSiPanel directory from your hard disk.

I would like to reinstall FSiPanel using Flight1 wrapper.

-      Download latest FSiPanel version from Flight1.com

-      Uninstall FSiPanel using your control panel.

-      Make sure to disable your anti-virus and start the installation.

-      In your Anti-Virus software, exclude FSiPanel directory from scanning.

If you experience license issue with the flight1 wrapper, please follow the link to manage your license:

Changing from Standalone, Server, Client

I would like to use my Standalone version as a server.

Standalone or Server version need to be installed via Flight1 wrapper in order to have the proper license file installed on your computer.

So you can change the version as follow:

Standalone to Server

Standalone to Client

Server to Standalone

Server to Client

NOTE: Client can not be changed, please use Flight1 if you want to change your version to Server or Standalone.

How to proceed:

-      Browse to FSiPanel directory

-      Delete config.txt

-      Start FSiPanel and select the desired mode.

Note: If you had previously created an airport database, you can skip this step.

Server / Client

Installation

It is important to install FSiPanel using administrator rights and to disable your UAC (User Account Control) in order for FSiPanel to run correctly.

No client setup file, how to install the client ?

First install your server with the Flight1 wrapper, create the airport database and import at least one aircraft.

Then, on your hard disk C:\fsipanel.com, you will find the file: SetupFSiPanel.exe, execute this file on your client computer and when prompted, select CLIENT installation, you won’t need to register.
