If you are using Windows Vista, and you get an error starting some of the configuration managers that come with a Flight1 aircraft, you are likely missing a system file.

Simply download and run this small update and the configuration managers should start without an error.

Vista did not ship with the same system files that XP shipped with.

Hi Steve,

I have just bought 172 Skyhawk for FSX running on Vista. When I try to open the configuration manager it shows: "Run Time Error 339. Component COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

I downloaded the update you suggested below but no luck...help please.

This error is from an invalid registry entry or a removed system file, likely caused by a virus or spyware scanner, or reduced system permissions due to Vista.

Try downloading www.flight1software.com/files/comdlg32.zip, and unzipping the file to C:\Windows\System32 and type the following at Start/Run:

regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx

You may need to disable User Account Control first if using Vista.
