Hey boys & girls!
I just upgraded from UTX 1.1b to 2.3 and added UTX-TAC and GEX Tropics and encountered crops of inverted black triangles sticking out of the ground like trees along the gulf coast of the U.S. from Port Aransas, TX to Lafayette, LA. They cast a shadow also - I did a tng underneath one, and clipped the top of several without wrecking the plane. Anyway, any idea what causes this and how to fix it?
Thanks,

Dave

What you are seeing FSX DX10 and UTX lights.

I moved this to the UTX forum since it has nothing to do with GEX

Black pyramids are a sign of DX10 being used. The pyramids are the road lights in UTX

You are seeing is caused by the use of DX10 in FSX with UTX road lighting

Unfortunately if you run in DX10 mode, which is a broken and unfinished preview of DX10 in FSX, it requires the use of a 3rd party tool called DX10 Fixer to see the UTX lights properly. The tool also fixes other items in DX10 mode that Microsoft never finished or fixed

The only other option is to uncheck DX10 mode in FSX Graphics settings and run DX9

The issue is a broken MS DX10, not UTX
